Hi Rapunzelina, I am hoping to submit "The Outsider" by HP Lovecraft, but wanted to check with you first as there was previously some doubt as to whether it had now come into the Public Domain.I wonder can you help me here?

Yep, I actually just put together a list of all the PD Lovecraft stories that haven't been recorded yet that have approved sources:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=89989
It's down in the Individual Stories section. I was surprised to find at least nine that are unrecorded.

The Dog-Eared God, The Black Cat, and The Golgotha Dancers are PL OK!

Thank you, Ben, Richa and Dan!

Also thank you, Ben, for that link! I have added it to the suggestions in our first post.

Hi Rapunzelina, thanks for all the info on HP Lovecraft.
Here is "The Outsider" by HP Lovecraft; holding all of the sadness of Mary Shelly's Monster with a hint of EA Poe:

Hi Andy! That was a great reading of The Outsider! Very lovecraftianly atmospheric!

I would like to point out two spots if you are able to fix:

one is around 17:03, where text is "approached the arch", but "arch" in the recording sounds cut off,
and the other is around 18:56, where it sounds like some text is missing from the recording: "My eyes, bewitched by the glassy orbs which stared loathsomely into them, refused to close; though they were mercifully blurred,"

Hi Tyler! Welcome to Librivox and the Ghost and Horror Collection! Thank you for this perfect reading of The Beast in the Cave!

I'll mention two things but only as a heads-up for your future uploads, since both can be fixed during cataloguing, so nothing you need to do now.
One is the volume which is marginally softer than desired; if you're using The Checker, in the "Information" tab you can see the volume in dB numbers. Target volume is 89-90dB, so if the Checker shows around 85, you'll know to amplify your recording with 4dBs, if that makes sense.
The other thing is the filename; each project has its own filename format, as instructed in the first post. For this collection, your filename will be ghohor058_beastincave_lovecraft_tm_128kb always lower case.

So here's your Reader page in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/reader/17058 which you can also access from your name link in the Magic Window. It lists the projects you read for and can also help you keep track of your sections in ongoing projects, under the "Reader section details" link.

Have fun here

Hi Rapunzelina, please find attached the re-edited "The outsider" with the two problems corrected. Thank you, as always for your diligence: I think we sometimes suffer a kind of 'snow blindness' or 'word deafness' when proofing our own work.

I wish to pass on the appreciation of all the ghosts for giving a voice to them. They don't mean to scare you; sometimes they have lapses in anger management.
