JaniceCanada wrote: October 21st, 2021, 12:03 pm Hello! I'm fairly new. I just completed my first LibriVox recording for Kitty. If they're still available, I'd be happy to take on:

Pt 2, Ch 8: The Extra Cubit
Pt 2, Ch 10: The Convalescent

Cheers,
JaniceCanada
Welcome! I hope you're enjoying your time here so far. (And indeed, if you've been working with Kitty, I'm certain you have. She is so pleasant and encouraging!)

I'll be happy to assign you the first of these two sections, section 15. Section 17, however (Part 2, Chapter 10), was just claimed a few posts above you by another reader. It's helpful, by the way, to use these section numbers when claiming a chapter, most of the time. :)

Let me know if you'd like another chapter in place of section 17. And I hope you enjoy reading for this project. :D

And thank you to everyone who has claimed or submitted in the last day or two. I've updated the MW. Please let me know if I've overlooked anything! You guys are awesome!

Thanks for your patience as I come up to speed with LibriVox, Devorah! I obviously missed that Section 17 had already been claimed in the thread. I'd be happy to take on another "Section" - whatever works for you is fine with me. In the meantime, I look forward to recording The Extra Cubit.

Have a lovely day,
Janice

(I must say I don't agree with him on what he termed the best practical joke in literature.)

Thanks,

Certainly! Sorry that I didn't get to this request earlier. I had thought this project was up to date.

All submitted sections are in my folder for PL.
Just a couple of extra things on the other side of life have cut into my LV time.

Here is section 24:

Those times (and he) certainly had different ideas about why people were left-handed. I know neither my daughter nor grandson has/had an injured right hand. :hmm: Also, as you may know, that there is an almost fool-proof way to tell if a very young child is going to be right-handed or left-handed. It is, of course, hard to tell in the very few years of life which a child will be, but when a young child is playing, kicking a ball, the foot with which they kick the ball, in the vast, vast majority of times, will tell which will be their dominant hand. Trivia for the day.
Well, rumor has it that left-handed people are more creative. Could be true.

I have a granddaughter who still has not decided which hand to use at age 8. She may be one of those rare ambidextrous people. I'll have her kick a ball and see how she does it. And, I've never understood those baseball players who are switch hitters.

Reading is PL OK

Glad to report this PL OK.
One place had some voices in the background, but faint enough to be okay.

This is also PL OK
Boreham sort of loses me on this one, but I do think he is right about needing to be able to laugh at ourselves. Others probably do.
