COMPLETE Short Poetry Collection 220 - rap
Here are my last two poems. One is about a dead child so not very "upbeat" for you.
I couldn't find information on this author. The book was published in 1897.

Here's a poem for Halloween:
"The Cuckoo Wood" by Edmund Beale Sargant (1855-1938)
Text URL: http://www.public-domain-poetry.com/edmund-beale-sargant/cuckoo-wood-38029
(I hope this is a legit source. I gather that this poem was part of his 1912 book "Casket Songs")
Duration: 11:35
Recording URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc220_cuckoowood_jmh_128kb.mp3
I think Sargant is new to the catalog. His Wikipedia page is at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmund_Beale_Sargant
And two other poems just because:
"The Swordless Christ" by Percy Adams Hutchison (born 1875, no death date I can find)
Text URL: https://www.bartleby.com/71/0716.html
Duration: 1:50
Recording URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc220_swordlesschrist_jmh_128kb.mp3
--I don't think Hutchison is in the catalog either, and I don't find a Wikipedia page for him, though Google shows works of his in various old poetry collections. Sorry.
"A Parable" by James Russell Lowell (1819-1891)
Text URL: https://www.bartleby.com/71/0710.html
Duration: 2:30
Recording URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc220_parable_jmh_128kb.mp3
(He is in the catalog, of course)

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said, "no one would come here
if they weren't allowed to talk out loud." So I read out loud.

Thank you Czandra! That was lovely! Optionally, there's a misread number if you'd like to fix, at around 7:21, 15 for "17"

Thanks Rapunzelina. I have to apologize, because in fixing that blooper, I found the pace of the poem overly frantic. I did not re-record, but added a few spacers, so it now rings in at 19:20Rapunzelina wrote: ↑September 13th, 2021, 11:41 am Thank you Czandra! That was lovely! Hi. I see I have misspelled cattlethief in the mp3 title. Will correct and re-load. Thx. Cz
