The Voyage PL OK

Nice, clear reading with good pacing and expression.

At 86.1 dB, it is on the low threshhold we require for volume. You can leave it here, but our goal is 89dB. We can work with 86-92dB.

In file names, we don't use 'the', 'a' etc.. It is best to just have _voyage_. Again, no need to fix it here... I can do that at cataloguing.

Lynnet,
I'd like to adjust my volume to 89dB and reupload.
It will be a good learning experience for me.

Great.
In Audacity, go to Effects then select Amplify.

You can check your volume (and other technical issues) with our Checker program. This is entirely optional, but I find it a very useful tool. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker
When you reupload, please correct the file name.

Lynnet,
thanks for the help and the quick prooflisten!
I'm not using Audacity but Checker was really helpful to confirm I've boosted the reading to 88.9 dB.
Also, I renamed my upload without "the".

Thank you. However, I am afraid I can’t accept it. It is dated 1939 and we need it to be before 1926 to be in the Public Domain. Let me check with those who know more than I, just in case

Edit: I’m afraid it isn’t acceptable unless you can find the same story on Gutenberg. It is just possible the copyright wasn’t extended, in which case we could accept it… but we don’t have the resources to check it. We rely heavily on Gutenberg’s extensive checking.

Second edit: it’s on Gutenberg  https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/41622
I will need to check the one you read is exactly the same, but it may be ok.
