Thank you, Sarah! All great with your recording! I noticed one or two hesitating pauses, but nothing wrong with that. I think the more you record, the more comfortable you'll feel in front of the microphone :D

I believe this John W. Jakes is John Jakes, who goes on to write several novels.

Thanks
Dale
Hi Dale! I believe you're right about John Jakes! All PL OK with the file!

Hi Twylla! Thank you once again! I have one optional edit to suggest, because it was confusing for a moment there. At around 15:27 text is "Harry and I endeavoured successively to grasp it", but I think I'm hearing "successfully" (which is all but  ) if it's an easy fix. If it's not, it's not a problem, the listener can catch the meaning from the context

The Alchemist by H.P. Lovecraft
Length:19:59
Read by Tyler Doherty

Audio: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor054_Alchemist_Lovecraft_TD_128kb.mp3

Text: http://www.lovecraft-stories.com/pdf/the-alchemist.pdf
Hi Tyler! Welcome to the Ghost and Horror Collection!
Great work with the recording! There is one repetition at around 2:35 of "a month before I was born".
A paragraph is missing at 13:16. The paragraph beginning "As soon as the torch ...". It would go after " ... the top of a flight of stone steps."
I noticed you used a filter for the alchemist's voice; there's one more word he says "Fool!" at current 19:13 if you'd like to apply that filter on that word, too.
This is probably subjective, but the pause between the end of story and the phrase "End of ..." felt too long to me. I would probably shorten that to 2", 3 seconds at most. You could also shorten the silence at the very end to 5 seconds. And that should do it! :D
One tip on filenaming: avoid upper-case letters because they mess with the system's alphabetical ordering. When you're ready to re-upload, use only lower-case letters for the filename. Thanks!

I made the correction ("Harry and I endeavoured successively to grasp it") and uploaded the correct file:

Thank you for the updated file Twylla! Perfect and PL OK!
About filenames, you can use the same filename whenever you need to re-upload a recording. The original file gets automatically renamed, and it's still in the server if needed. I will fix this one at cataloguing to follow the filenaming format of the project

Hi Russell! Welcome to the Ghost and Horror Collection! Sorry I have been calling you Jonah till now!

Congrats on your first ever Librivox Recording! And here's your Reader Page https://librivox.org/reader/16417 which you can also access from your name-link in the Magic Windows. It lists the projects you read for, and can also help you keep track of your sections in ongoing projects (under the Reader Section Details link).

You narration is flawless! I only have a couple of more technical edits to suggest. One is the volume which is a bit soft. I remember we had that issue in the first test recording also. Volume can be tricky, it needs constant monitoring! This one would need ideally 4dB amplification.
The other thing I want to mention are the beginning and ending silences. The ideal would be 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning, and 5 seconds at the end. Nothing tragically bad if not, but it makes for a better listening experience overall.
If you are available for these edits, when ready, upload your new file with the same filename.

Also, important, which text source did you use? If online source, please post the link, or if a hard-copy please name edition/publication/year. Thank you! :9:

Congratulations on your first recording!
A noteworthy narration of this spooky story!
Thank you, Neil! It's PL OK!

I have credited you as Neil Jaybe in the catalogue, but let me know if you'd like something else as Catalogue name. Here's your reader page: https://librivox.org/reader/16449 which you can also access from your name-link in the Magic Windows. It lists the projects you read for, and can also help you keep track of your sections in ongoing projects (under the Reader Section Details link).

Note: there is an extra s in the filename, (should be _128kb) but I can fix that at cataloguing; just mentioning it as something to watch out for in the future
