Hello. Here is my re-edited piece, Caterpillars by E F Benson. 22:06 long.

Here is a link to the text used - https://www.steve-calvert.co.uk/caterpillars-e-f-benson/

I took your advice and amplified further and reduced beginning and end gaps to 1 and 5 seconds.

I hope this meets the requirements.

Regards

Good Afternoon:

Ashes
by C. M. Eddy, Jr. (with H. P. Lovecraft)
From Weird Tales, March 1924
Read by Dale Grothmann
Time 21:45

Audio at:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor054_ashes_eddy_dg_128kb.mp3

Text at:
https://archive.org/details/WeirdTalesV03n03192403/page/n21/mode/2up

Since there is a "with" author, I am not sure how yu want to list this. The Lovecraft Snobs do not think this is one of his best...

Thanks
Dale

Thank you Dale! I will listen later and post again. Only one slot for author, I will think about it ... Maybe I'll decide after listening

Oh, dear, I'm so sorry! I was thinking LordA(lan) at the time. Thank you for noticing my mistake! Should be fixed!

Hi Monica! Welcome to Librivox and to the Horror Collection!

Congratulations on your first ever Librivox recording! It is quite a horrific story you've chosen for the collection! Thank you for contributing!

Tech specs of the recording are all correct, except that the volume is a little softer than desired.

I have some proof-listening notes for you to address, let me know if you need help or guidance on any of the issues:

- at around 2:48 some text is missing from the recording, here underlined " he asked: "Is there anything remarkable about my hand?"
"Yes," I said

- at around 19:00, repetition of "for it bore a very great name"

- around 33:10 text is "My visitor shook his head.", I mostly hear "My sister shook his head.", only if you'd like to change that.

- about the volume, it would need to be amplified by about 9 dB. If you're using Audacity, you could use a combination of the Compressor and Amplify effects to achieve desired amplification.

Dale, "Ashes" is PL OK! I will credit Eddy Jr as the author, as he seems to be the main one anyway. Thank you for your recording!!

Hi Veronica! Welcome to Librivox! I got your post, but I won't be able to download files for a few more days. Just letting you know as you are probably anxious for feedback :D
