Oh, my new upload has underlines between every word so the link changed. Do you want me to reupload with the correct name or would you like to fix it on the server?
If you would make the fix, please. That would help. Thank you.
There you go... Uploaded the fixed version again with the correct name.

ezwa wrote: August 1st, 2021, 3:40 am Hello Kevin and Mary,

Here are two contributions in French:

With MMMD2505 / Magda Wilde: * Magda and Michael, I hope I didn't butcher it.

Thanks for allowing both in, Kevin!
Contributing my counterpart and noting that Ezwa's contributions didn't make it into the MW.

Title: Louis XVI aux Français. Lines supposed to be written by Louis XVI after his sentence had been announced.
Author: Anonymous
Text: https://books.google.com/books?id=28NgAAAAcAAJ&pg=PA139 (1802)
URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/16th_louisxviauxfrancais_anonymous_kaz_128kb.mp3

This is an English translation of the song recorded by Ezwa and Magda. I would suggest putting it right before the song, so that listeners who don't understand French will know what the lyrics of the song are about as they hear it.

I also want to point out that Gustave Masson is the editor of the anthology, not the author of the song. The music (for Pauvre Jacques) was written by Jeanne Renée de Bombelles, marquise de Travanet (1753-1828) and she could be credited for the song. The royalist lyrics are also credited to her in Ezwa's source, but that's clearly wrong. Other sources identify it as a "popular" spin-off of Travanet's romance.

Thanks,
Michael

Section 17 is PL OK. :)
Section 19 is marked Ready for Spot PL, but still doesn't have the updated audio. :(

Mary, I'm not sure what happened here, but I have re-entered the file for Section 19 and I think it is ready for the Spot Check now.

Thank you, Michael. Please check the title I have placed in the MW to see if it is as you would like it. I don't know if I should have added your full title. Will there be room for this?

Looks good! While I'm here, the title for section 22 is Le crime du seize octobre, ou Les fantômes de Marly and for 24 it's Louis XVI aux Français. :)

Just a small thing, for the Section 21 title I noticed I put 16 instead of Sixteen. That's all. :?

commonsparrow3 wrote: July 19th, 2021, 6:26 pm I've already done my contribution, but I stumbled across this poem by William Butler Yeats with 'sixteen' in the title.
So perhaps someone looking for a short bit of poetry to record might wish to follow up on it.

"Sixteen Dead Men" by William Butler Yeats
published in the November 1920 issue of "The Dial" literary magazine
https://books.google.com/books?id=tcxPAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA460#v=twopage&q&f=false
No one has taken this up, and Kevin had already approved a second helping for me, so I gave it a try:

Title: Sixteen Dead Men
Author: William Butler Yeats
Text: https://books.google.com/books?id=tcxPAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA460
URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/16th_sixteendeadmen_yeats_kaz_128kb.mp3
Length: 1:24

Thanks for the suggestion!
