Happy to submit 'Max and Maurice' - a German children's book (translated to English, of course).
  • Title: Max and Maurice - A Juvenile History in Seven Tricks (pub. 1865)
  • Author: Wilhelm Busch (1832-1908)
  • Translator: Charles T. Brooks (1813-1883)
  • Length: 16 minutes, 03 seconds
  • Reader: Nathan Lewin
P.S. this is my first recording, hope everything is ok with the text and recording.

Hi,

There is no claiming in a short works project like this. You just find a public domain story, record it and submit it! :-)

Thank you ~ nice job! :-)

There are a few things that need to be corrected.

First the beginning silence is a tad long at 2 seconds. We ask for it to be no more than 1. You can just snip a little off. :-)

Also the intro should be as follows:
The Dog and the Wolf, by Marmaduke Park" "This is a Librivox recording. All Librivox Recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit Librivox.org"

"End of The Dog and the Wolf, by Marmaduke Park"

We just need the story title, not the entire book title that it is coming from.

If you could fix these and reupload, that would be great!
Maria

Hi,

Thank you, but unfortunately I can't accept a chapter out of a book for this collection. It is only for stand alone stories. Sorry!
There have been "First Chapter Collections" in the past, but I don't think one is running right now.

You could always read the entire book as a solo and use this chapter for it! :-)

Hello, this is my 2nd submission and trying to learn how to edit better. (I realize I'm right at the 92db threshold at 91.9 and will adjust accordingly in the future.)
Edit: Is the intro silence too long?

Thank you! Nice job!

The volume is just fine! :-) The intro silence is a tad too long - it should be no more than 1 second. And the outro silence should be no more than five.

If you could snip those off and reupload, that would be great!

Intro/Outro snipped and ready for spot PL on Try, Try Again

https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/csw047_trytryagain_dl_128kb.mp3

Also, if you or anyone has stylistic feedback I am hereby soliciting. :) I am (I think) getting better at editing, which was a first priority, and would like to improve in other areas, as well.

Thanks, again!

I did so, as referenced in prior post, but forgot to quote so as to prompt notification. Sorry to bother again.

Thank you! It is is now PL OK!

I'm not the best at giving stylistic feedback, but if you ask when you submit any other recordings, I am sure you will find people willing to give their opinion! :-)

That being said, the more you do, the better you will get at editing and everything else!
