Hi Dale,
I am pitching in proof listening this weekend while James has some well-deserved time off.
Your story is PL OK. I'm glad they caught up with them.
Thanks!

Hi,
It is great to have it in this collection. A few things to look out for next time is to link to the source's main page so anyone who want to look at it will have a choice of formats: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/29504. And please do not use capital letters in your filename. Your proof listening report will be coming up soon.
Thanks for your story!
-Amy

Hi Peter,
Nice reading! I must say the author choice's to use coltish and then to use it repeatedly irritates me (Monday morning mini-rant).
There are a few edits needed.
-Firstly, it is too quiet. An increase of 6 db would be ideal. On this file you can achieve it by applying the compressor effect.
-Decrease the opening silence to 1 second.
-Decrease the closing silence to 5 seconds.
-Cut out the noisy gap around 14:04.
In your closing it seems you started to brush the microphone or bump it. That is something to try to avoid in future recordings.
Please use only lower case letters in the file when you reupload it after making the edits.
Thank you,
-Amy
p.s.
You can check you tech specs using the Checker. It is a great tool.

Hello, I have a completed audiobook that has a runtime of about 72 minutes. Is this too long for this collection and should I put it up as a solo book?

I've started making what I think will amount to more like 50 minutes. That will have three chapters. That would suit best here, right?

Hi Greg,
The 72 minute one is cutting it close, but we can take it. If your 72 minute one can be divided into two sections that would be even better. We just want to make sure the story will fit on a CD. For the 50 minute one, please do the whole thing in one recording.
Thanks,
-Amy

Browsing the latest Gutenberg releases, I found "Last Call for Doomsday," apparently written by Edmond Hamilton (October 21, 1904 – February 1, 1977) under the pseudonym S.M. Tenneshaw. At just over 20,000 words, it's really a novela rather than a short story, and would make about a two hour audiobook. Would that work for this collection if I split it into two sections?

Hi Alan,
Yes, submitting it in two parts will work for this collection. But if it is over 2 hours, I can MC it as a solo project for you.
Thanks,
-Amy

I think the long one is too long. I'll turn it into SOLO, as I have that all loaded up.

I would like to submit 'Against the Stone Beasts' by James Blish here, if I may. It has three chapters, which will run to around 50 minutes total. I can squeeze them together into one track if you prefer that format, or keep it as three.

Okay, that works. I will mc the solo for you, if you need a mc.
