I'll correct the timing errors and missed line today. The bit rate problem is another problem.

My version of Audacity, which I believe to be most up to date, does not have the option of "Constant" bit rate. Choices are: Preset, Variable or Average.

Preset has a bit rate of 170 -210 kbps.

Variable has a quality of 170 -210 as well.

Although the third option, Average "claims" a quality of 128 kbps (shows those numbers on the Quality screen) it apparently lies.

p.s. I downloaded two earlier Audacity version that offered the same menu.

Thanks, Tom Merritt

Both in the MW for proof-listening!

Hello there,

It seems my Section 93 recording is not showing in the MW for proof-listening. Is my link not working properly?
That was my mistake. Section 93 is now in the MW. :D

That is a big problem, because Archive requires the 128 kbps constant bit rate to derive the other formats. It's available in Audacity; otherwise the hundreds of us that use the program wouldn't be able to do it, either. ;)

From the Audacity forum: try resizing the export window.

I would be happy to send you a screen shot of the export screen. May I. I assure you, I am seeing what I said I saw. Thanks

Hi Tommy this is what my screen looks like when I export. I am assuming the constant function is missing for you.

I'd suggest posting the question about this in "Need Help? Got Advice?" viewforum.php?f=23

Perhaps someone else has encountered this issue and knows how to fix it.

The problem is Audacity for Mac is not the same as Audacity for Windows. Perhaps some other Mac users can weight in on the subject. Thanks

My recording cannot be used, as it doesn't conform to Librivox's tech requirements. I've learned, sadly, that Audacity for Mac will not work with Librivox. I reckon I'll just go out and buy a PC. Thearefore, you may return #20, Undine, to the Magic Window.

Thanks, and sorry, Tom

I use Audacity 2.4.2 on a Mac and haven't had any issues with it.
I'd post a screenshot, but I'm not sure how to.
Good luck!

Yeah, I could not send a screen shot to show that I was telling the truth. So. I must try your version, 2.4.2. I don't believe I've tried that. Cross your fingers! Thank you for your interest. Tom
