The Rover Vol. 01 No. 13, by Seba Smith (1792 - 1868) and Lawrence Labree

"The Rover: A weekly magazine of tales, poetry and engravings, original and selected" was a magazine started in 1843 by Seba Smith and Lawrence Labree. The editors aimed at a high quality standard in their selection of short stories and poetry. Every half-year, the 26 weekly issues were also published under a bound compilation. This issue features six short stories and two poems, "Th' unbusied shepherd" is a short quote from the drama "King Henry the Fifth" by Aaron Hill. (Summary by Sonia)

of course, thanks. Yes I was considering not giving it a separate section, but it doesn't fit too well with the other story and it's an excerpt from a stage play, so why not, let's give it a separate section.

Jim, thanks for your three stories. All three sections are PL ok and wow this was a feat, as is was an hour's worth of listening just now. :shock: But they were interesting stories. I best enjoyed the Ben Franklin story, though I wonder why the mother didn't see him for so many years that he would have changed so completely in looks she wouldn't recognize him. :?
