BTW, I "upgraded" to a Blue Yeti mic. I hope the recording quality sounds better than my previous ones, where I used a built-in mic. Since I live on the edge of a busy street, my recordings tend to be noisy. I took M's advice and used Noise Reduction. In my opinion, recordings with Noise Reduction lose a bit of quality, but I hope it didn't affect anything major. If you have any tips, please let me know.

Thanks
You definitely did not use too much noise reduction. :) The quality of your voice on these recordings is very good and there is no noticeable background noise.

Both are PL OK.

Thanks,

I have listened to 43 and 44. You have a good speaking voice. There is one small problem with each of the sections.

43: at about 5:15 the text reads "for several weeks before her death", alas you have "after"
44: at about 1:30 the recording is garbled at "I paid for his freedom"

You have a high level of background noise in the recordings. I would suggest you run the files through noise reduction to reduce it in future. You do not need to do it here, but, since these two files need editing, you might want to run them through a noise reduction. Again, it is optional for these two files.

I will try to get to the remainder of your recordings over the weekend. Overall, though, the first two recordings were well read. :)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

M

Section 45 has one repeated phrase.

At about 8:27 you have "and after telling me the charge he had to get me, and after telling me the charge he had to get me a good master," - please delete first one.

There is also a high level of background noise. As this file needs editing anyway, please also run it through noise reduction to lower the level of the background noise.

Your reading is very pleasant to listen to.

Thanks,

I request to read the following sections

Narratives of Colored Americans
37: Poor Sarah and
67: Emancipation in New York/Freedmen of America

I will also need assistance on how to handle the transition between the stories of Section 67.

Thank you for the feedback. Everything should be fixed. :)

I reduced the background noise as well but please tell me if it still needs some adjusting.

Thank you for reading these!

37 is one of the longer sections in the book

For sect 67 Read the into as usual then repeat the title of the first piece before you read it. When you finish that piece, just give a short pause, no longer than 2 seconds, then the title of the second piece and read. Usual end of section number to close. 5 sec silence, of course.
