Hi again:

I made the corrections and boosted the signal 15%. That should clear it up.

Newgatenovelist wrote: April 15th, 2021, 9:53 am Hello (in alphabetical order) Alix and Rapunzelina,

I have something to spook you! Rapunzelina, this fella needs to be added to the catalogue (I'll leave you in peace now!). Alix, this is taken from a longer work, it begins on page 203.

The Vampire of Croglin Grange by Augustus Hare (1834-1903)

Duration: 11.20

Augustus Hare was a British biographer and travel writer.

I'm not sure this is helpful, but the legend has its own wiki page:

Fabulous (and very creepy) stuff! Genuinely pleased I listened to this in the middle of the day and not in the dark!
Very tempted to take a trip to Croglin Low Hall some time...

A couple of PL notes:
0.57 - I hear 'stuff' for 'stiffs'
1.27 - 'twenty-five' for 'fifty-five'
4.40 - 'county' for 'country'

Hunger and Last Trip both PL ok too :)

HI:

Repaired Seven Men.

Nice catch on county and country. He might have written either, but I want it the way he wrote it.

Thanks
Dale

Thank you so much, Alix! I'm glad you liked it. I was surprised at how horrifying the vampire managed to be in such a short story, but yes, I was wondering if I'd be able to visit the area at some point!

Hello,
When ere I try to access these stories with this link: http://www.classichorrorstories.com/ I get this error message in my browser:
Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? Very frustrating!

Hi Arthur. I don't get this message, but the website doesn't work well for me either. The main page opens, but then the links in the menu on the right do not all lead to the corresponding pages. So yes, there is something wrong with the page... I hadn't noticed it before, so I don't know how long it's been a problem, but let's hope it's something temporary :hmm:
Is it a particular story you were looking for, or just browsing?

Here is a recording of "The Ash Tree" by M.R. James for the collection.

PL ok!
I had a little debate in my head about County vs Country, and decided that Country meant they had tried much harder to identify the men, which felt especially important in the context of this story, so it was definitely worth flagging.

Thanks for the edits Dale!
