(Complete) Coffee Break Collection #31 - SPRINGTIME - Lt
Mother Nature's House Cleaning is PL OK.
In case you haven't done this yet, I recommend you download LV's Checker program, then drag each completed file into it before submitting. It verifies that your tech specs are right, measures volume and background noise, and other things. If you ever take up the PL'ing hobby, you will be able to check each file you are proof-listening for these parameters.
Here is where to find the Checker program download, and instructions on how to use it.

Good morning. I'd like to add a short reading from Thoreau's Walden - "Spring". I'm awaiting approval of my one-minute test uploaded yesterday...
"A word is dead when it is said, some say. I say it just begins to live that day." Emily Dickinson
There are plenty of openings left, so take your time. Meanwhile, let me know what Real Name you'd like to see in our catalog. Could be your username, your Real Name, or another name, but once chosen it can't be changed on any catalogued project.

PL Notes of Spring by Thoreau
All sounds great, Laurie, except you should alter the Intro title to "Excerpt from Spring in Henry David Thoreau's Walden"
For future reference, you should indicate text position something like "from Chapter entitled Spring, Paragraph 16." I was able to use the Find feature to locate the opening line, but not all PL'ers have access to feature.
And I have changed your link to https://www.gutenberg.org/files/205/205-h/205-h.htm#chap18

PL Notes, The Lillies
Brianna,
I looked it up this time, but in future please provide the link to the text you read from, and the name of the story/poem, in this case "The Lillies".
http://www.gutenberg.org/files/15101/15101-h/15101-h.htm#THE_LILIES
INTRO requires at least half a second of silence before you begin talking, per instructions in the First Post. This is so the first word isn't cut off in the listener's podcast player. Please copy a second or so from the silence at the end, and add to the beginning.
Second, begin your recording with the name of the story, not the name of the book it is read from. Your intro should say "The Lillies"
:09-:25, per instructions in the First Post, please omit the long disclaimer (you included the short disclaimer at the end.)
1:10 To nature's minstrelsy—A resurrection type,
pronounce min-strel-sy, you say min-stris-ly
pronounce re-su-rec-tion, you say rex-ur-ec-tion
Your volume is within range but very low, at 86.7. Since you are making other changes, please boost your volume +3. In Audacity, go Effects/Amplify/+3
This poem is about Christ's resurrection, but makes no mention of spring. Non-Christian listeners might not know about Easter Lillies.

Sorry for all the inconvenience.
I think we’d bettef erase the whole file because, as you said, it is not really about Spring, but there’s a touch of Christian thing.
I understand it perfectly.
Sorry again. I will not even make the corrections you’ve asked me to.
Just erase it. Thank you
Brianna

Thanks Brianna. You are welcome to submit Lilies to the ongoing Short Poetry Collection, which is not bound by subject matter. You just change your Intro and Outro per the directions in that First Post, and there you go. If you find another spring poem before this project closes, please send it in.
