ejh324 wrote: March 26th, 2021, 11:44 am Hi, I'm a first time reader, but I'm interested in recording a few of these creeds. I can start with 8 and 9 which I think are the earliest unclaimed ones. Just to make sure, we are recording only the creeds themselves, none of his commentary right? Also at some points in the creeds he put words or phrases in parenthesis which I think are meant to be alternate translations, what should I do in those circumstances? Lastly what exactly am I putting as the introduction (for the sake of consistency)?
Great. I'm glad so many people are interested in this project. I'll just wait for your 1 minute test to be approved before assigning these 2 sections.

You just read the creed without the commentary and I would read the alternate translations in brakets and use intonation to make clear that it is a parallel phrase rather than an addition.

For the intro, read "Creed of Gregory Thaumaturgus, of Neo-Caesarea A.D. 270 by Gregory Thaumaturgus" etc.

Here is section 12, The Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed A.D. 325 and 381:

Please let me know of any issues with it. It has been fascinating reading the different versions of the creeds. If there are still any left I might ask for some more in a few days.

Thanks,

Here for your listening pleasure (or is it torture?), is section 10:

These are fairly quick and easy, so if you are willing to put up with me doing a few more, I'll take:

13 The Private Creed of Arius A.D. 328

14 Creed of Cyril, of Jerusalem A.D. 350

Thanks,

Both PL ok. I've always heard Arius pronounced with a short vowel at the start but you can do it how you choose because it's a name. :)

I can change it if you would prefer. It would be fairly simple to do. Let me know.
