Welcome to Librivox! Here is a link to your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/16063
There are some things that need to be fixed.
First, the recording is in STEREO, and we need it to be in MONO.
The bit rate needs to be 128kbps and Constant. Yours in 113kbps and variable.
There is a high level of background noise. It sounds like perhaps there is a distant radio or music playing? For future recordings it is best to try to figure out the noise source, but you should be able to noise clean most of this out of this recording.
Here are some links and videos on how to set your tech specs, if you are using Audacity:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l00VDvGTieg
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Newbie_Guide_to_Recording#Exporting
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lmx0q7IfLiw&feature=youtu.be
As for the recording itself, there are 6 seconds of silence at the beginning, and we ask that there be no more than 1.
There is a noise at the 24 seconds mark that should be cut out.
And there are 10 seconds of silence at the end, and we ask that there be 5.
If you could fix these issues and reupload, using the file name: csw044_applepie_ms_128kb - that would be great!

Hi there,
So, a little backstory first! Ever since Tally Tiger joined LV, we've been 'fighting' over who gets microphone time as everything is set up on my computer.
So, I came up with a solution, Lets record something together! I'm alright at voices and she does a pretty good narrator.
We have done for you:
The Fairy Box by Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888)
Text: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/40682
mp3 link: https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/csw044_fairybox_ttam_128kb.mp3 (19:13)
I really hope that this is ok!
Annie

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was going to be allowed with there being two of us!

Yes, it is fine. I think we may have had a similar one before. I wouldn't want an entire collection to be that way (would suggest starting a project just for them in that case), but once in a while I won't object.AngeliqueAnja wrote: ↑April 8th, 2021, 2:45 pmThanks!
