Welcome, 1dixong. There are a few initial things that you can update before your story is proof listened. When you upload the file you have to select a MC so that would be alg1001 for this collection. The filename just needs to have ssf076 in it. ssf076_hallofmirrors_brown_gpd_128kb. Please also post the source text and the length of your recording.Recording must be a monaural MP3 file with a sample rate of 44.1 kHz and a bit rate of 128 Kbps.
Always post a message to this forum thread after a successful upload. The message must contain:
o The story title
o The author’s name
o The URL displayed by the LibriVox Uploader after the file has successfully uploaded
o The URL for the online version of the text. So there can be a choice of file format to download, please use the Gutenberg main page for the source such as https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/29975
o The duration of the recording
• If this is your first submission to the Short Science Fiction Collections please provide:
o Your name/pseudonym as you wish it to appear in the LibriVox catalog
o Your personal website URL (optional)
Thanks for your story.

Hi, Amy! I am new here. I would like to record - The Conquest of the Moon: A Story of the Bayouda (by the British Empire!)
http://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/008611866) by Paschal Grousset 1889.
Regards,
M.C. DeGroff-Davis
BTW, I was lucky enough to meet Leonard Nimoy once. He spoke about acting, his life, and how he came up with the iconic hand signal.

You got these things right.
* The volume is good at 86.9DB
* The sample rate is good at 44.1kHz
You may want to read about the 1 Minute test https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test and work through that to learn how to address the techinical issues below.
There are multiple issues to address.
As Amy pointed out
* The file name should be ssf076_hallofmirrors_brown_gpd_128kb
* The bit rate should be 128
* It should be a mono recording
* The bit rate should be consant
* Amy also has some other directions for you in the post above.
There are several Stutters at 0:16, 0:24 & 0:35 seconds, You should listen to your reading and edit out thise issues before submitting the work. I did not attempt do document them all, and I will do another full PL when you submit the corrected recording.
14:10 to 14:13 long pause, with a background sound "ah washing?" that is not part of the text.
Missing begining and ending announcments
Recordings require 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the file.
Beginning Announcement:
“[story title] by [author]. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
You can then optionally say: "Recording by [your name]".
Then repeat: "[Title], by [author]. Translated by [translator]."
Ending Announcement:
"End of [title], by [author] Translated by [translator]."
You can then optionally say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
• Recordings require 5 seconds of silence at the end of the file.
I look forward to listening to your corrected recording.
James

That's awesome. It must have been wonderful to meet him.
The Conquest of the Moon appears to be a nice old novel. It looks great. You could take it on as a Solo project or suggest it as a group project. This collection is for short stories under 70 minutes.
Cheers,

Ralph,
Both files end with .mp3 twice can you correct?
Part 1
A couple of minor issues need to be addressed
22:20 Missing the words "was haunted" (important plot point)
Missing Ending announcement for part 1
Correction not required
There is some background noise (particlarly durring the first minute) dectable while using a headset, while it is ok within Librovix standards you might not be applying the effect Noise reduction, equally to all parts of the recording. I does look like you applied it fine on most parts of the recording.
Part 2
Just the file name needs to be corrected.
No PL issues, but a couple of sections with noise reduction not applied, you don't need to fix it in this recording but consider for your next recording.
Regards,
Ralph Martin
