I tried to edit it, but I ran into issues. I read on the forums that were editors, so, if you can, please edit it or tell me of an app or something, aside from Audacity because it doesn't work on Chromebook, that I can edit it on. Thanks.

I'll check it out and let you know about editing. In the meantime, have a look around the "Need Help" forums for suggestions on your Chrome book. There's a search box near the top of the forum, so you can search for Chromebook, or similar terms.

A few notes:

: 1- At about 7:17...
I say, "Once inside, I am safe"; the text says, "Once inside and I am safe."
I know this is the pdf from the magazine, but every other text source I have checked omits the word "and," which makes more sense.

: 2- At about 25:30...
I say, "...then crane my neck out and look up"; the text says, "...then crane my head out and look up."
I noticed this error in the final editing; it doesn't change the meaning, and I'm lazy, so I left it as is.

: 3- At about 34:30...
I say, "...the harsh, raspy sound becomes muffled"; the text says, "...the harsh, raspy noise becomes muffled."
Again, I noticed this error in the final editing; it doesn't change the meaning, and I'm lazy, so I left it as is.

: 4- This being a nautical story, there are nautical terms scattered throughout. I did my best with the pronunciations, but....

No worries on the slightly changed words - I'm not doing word perfect PL so wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't flagged them! As you say, doesn't change the meaning at all.

I wouldn't claim to be a nautical expert but all the nautical terms sounded how I would have expected them to

Hi Isabella!
I checked out your recording to see if I can edit, but I don't have the time to do such a long recording. Well done on tackling this long story! You have a lovely voice, though sometimes I felt like you were reading too fast. Maybe you're still nervous reading into a microphone, and that's natural. I think some good advice is to picture a friendly face and to imagine you are reading to them. That usually makes us more comfortable reading into a microphone and helps us slow down. Also, pre-reading the story can cut down on editing time, when we know what comes next and thus maybe stumble less.
Any luck with finding suggestions in the "Need Help" forum?
Someone mentioned using an Audacity extension on their Chromebook, that they downloaded from the web store, viewtopic.php?p=1830671#p1830671
Hopefully that will also work for you!
