I would like to request Section 05. This is my first recording and I would like to be known by my pseudonym, Emile Wolf.

I also am prepared to submit my audio for review: https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/anthologyofmassachusettspoets_05_braithwaite_128kb.mp3
(File Duration: 02:28)

Thanks!
Well, we have several problems.
First, this section had already been claimed by another reader and has been assigned.
One should always wait until a claim has been acknowledged and assigned before recording.
All is not lost, however, since you can still submit this to the current short poetry collection, and you can choose another open section from this project.

You will, however need to make some technical changes. These things are supposed to be worked out by submitting a test recording to the proper forum, and I strongly suggest that you do so. I also suggest that you read our Newbie Guide to Recording

Among the useful information there you will find instructions for completing your test recording.

Specifically, this recording is in stereo and all LV files must be in mono. Also, they must be in constant bit rate at 128kbs. You have this in a variable bit rate.

And, as given in our recording instructions, we are using a shortened intro for each poem rather than the standard longer one that you used.

At the end of the recording, there should be five seconds of silence, and you have about four. There are also multiple clicks in that silence.

As a general comment, I found your reading pace quite fast. I think you would have a better result, especially for a short poem, if you slowed down a bit, but you have a nice recording voice!

These are just technical issues, and once you have them in hand, you will be able to relax and enjoy reading in the many LV projects. Hope you can come back and take another poem to read.

All the best,
~ Larry

Hello,

If still available, I would like to claim section 89 "Comrades" by GEORGE EDWARD WOODBERRY.

Thanks,

Joana
Thank you for your interest in this project.
We do, however, request that our new readers first complete a one-minute test recording to check out all of your technical specifications and any reading issues.

New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!

Among the useful information there you will find instructions for completing your test recording. Once you have the "OK" on that, post again here and you are free to record for this project. Let us know how you would like to be credited in the LibriVox catalog - real name, pseudonym or other nickname.

Sorry, but there was a previous claim for 61 that I hadn't got in the MW yet, but I've given you 66.
Thank you! Feel free to make another selection. :)

I'd like to be credited as AllisonMcAlister, please.
Thanks!
Oh, my! Excellent, expressive reading of these poems. :D

Happy to mark these PL OK. My only comment is that I found some of the gaps between elements a bit long, but nothing that needs to be changed.

Another LV star on the stage.
I hope we'll hear a lot more of your voice here on LibriVox.

Here are my assigned poems.
Thank you for these Nicholas!

The reading of all of these is just fine, and they are a nice addition to this volume of poetry.

The only issue is the silences at the beginning and end.

At the beginning: no more than one second. Best to aim between .5-1.0 some of these are over by just a bit, others by a whole second.

At the end, about 5 seconds. This doesn't have to be exact, but most of these are over by several seconds, which is too much.

So, it is just a matter of clipping at the front and end. Should be fairly easy to see this in Audacity.

Then, upload the files again under the same name, post links and time here again, and I'll spot check them.

Thank you for your fine contribution.

This is the only one -- still has only three seconds at the end. Might not be absolutely crucial, but best to be consistent.

All others are now marked PL OK!

Thanks.
