I would like to do the following piece:

“THE DREAM OF AKINOSUKE”
from
Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things - Japanese
http://www.gutenberg.org/files/1210/1210-h/1210-h.htm

I just copied and pasted. What’s my next move? Do I just go ahead and record it in the proper format? I still have not done that one minute audio test but I will do that today. I’m certain my equipment can make high-quality high-quality recording in the correct format. Thank you for your help. And I’m really looking forward to this.

What a fantastic recording, Maddie!

There is only one edit that needs to be made to bring the volume up into the decibel parameters LibriVox has to use. Right now it comes in at only 84.2 dB.

It's an easy fix. :)

I'm only familiar with the Audacity software. If that's what you're using, here's how to fix the decibels:
  • Open the recording
  • Click Control-A to select the entire track
  • From the Effects drop-down menu, select Amplify
  • Type 5 in the top box (ignore everything else)
  • Click OK
Now you can re-export the file to mp3 and upload the new file the same way you did the first time. Don't forget to post again. :)

Thanks, Lewis! Your recording is loaded and queued for PL. Thank you very much for including all the information.

Here is your personal Reader Page: Lewis West.

You'll see that it lists all the projects you are a part of, both complete and in-progress. It also has a link to the lists of all the sections that are assigned to you for recording and/or prooflistening. Very handy!

Hello, and welcome to LibriVox!

These collection projects are a little different from the usual LibriVox group projects, because we don't put claims on sections for recordings to be done. Instead, we enter recordings as they come in.

So, yep, you will do your recording and then upload the file and post the link and information here, per the directions in the original posting for the project. I've marked your story on the source sheet, so that people looking for ideas will see yours is taken.

If, for some reason, when you come back in to upload your recording, this Collection 6 has filled up, just look for Collection 7. :)
