Thank you for the compliments!!! :). Here is the fixed version https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/englishlitboysandgirls_40_marshall_128kb.mp3 Duration: 9:32
The changes sound great! The only issue is that there are now several seconds of silence at the beginning of the file, and there should only be 0.5-1 second of silence there.
UGH...so sorry! I always seem to manage some tech error when editing. ;) https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/englishlitboysandgirls_40_marshall_128kb.mp3. Duration: 9:31
Yay, it's perfect now!

Chapter 2 : THE STORY OF THE CATTLE RAID OF COOLEY
Length: 13:47

I went ahead and made the minor edits needed for this section. The reader hasn't logged in since January and hasn't responded to my PM. If he returns before the project is cataloged, he is welcome to make the edits himself. I just adjusted the silence at the beginning and end of the file and removed a few electronic clicks. Now PL OK in the MW.

Section 12 PL notes: Would you mind adding "end footnote" after the footnote at 08:41? Other than that, the recording is perfect! Thanks so much!
Hello!

I have the revisions done for Section 12 - length: 14:32

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/englishlitboysandgirls_12_marshall_128kb.mp3

And the submission of Section 13 - length: 11:04

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/englishlitboysandgirls_13_marshall_128kb.mp3

Thank you!!!!
Kim, your reading is absolutely perfect! Sections 12 and 13 are PL OK. Just a note for the future--make sure you check the silence at the beginning and end of the recording. The beginning should be 0.5-1 second, and the end should be 5 seconds. The silence at the end of Section 12 somehow grew from 4.8 seconds to 7.2 seconds when you edited it!
Ok, thank you for the advice. I guess I sort of eyeball it but I should zoom in for a more accurate measure of length of silence.

Thanks,
Kim

While recording the foregoing Sections I recorded neither the occasional footnote nor the list of suggested readings at the end of the Sections as I have thought that it is the text of the book itself that the reader wants to hear and not find out about such other books as the author apparently thought the reader might be interested in and which, I believe, are unlikely to be a part of the Librivox library. I have not recorded the footnotes as I have not thought it necessary to do so in service of the very minimals, if any, clarifications that they offer. In Section 30, for example, at page 508 of the Gutenberg version I am using we have: “He language had at large," says one of his fellow poets and countrymen.*” And the footnnote is: *Sir David Lyndsay. Is it important for the listener to know that Sir David Lindsay (whoever he was) was the one who said "He language had at large."? I don't think so.

Having said all that, I am prepared, as always, to conform to the Librivox rules about such things and, if necessary, will edit all four chapters as best I can to follow them. Let know. While you're doing so, if I have to record the footnotes, please tell me exactly how to do it.

Sorry for being absent the last while, I got busy with work and thanks for the edits and fix-ups

Hi there! Thanks so much for your submission and thanks for asking! For this project, we are asking that readers narrate the footnotes and the "Books to Read" section. But let me listen to your recordings first so that you can make any changes needed at once!

Hello. The above is Ch. 38 "The Death of Sir Thomas More"

First submission - and first reading - other than 1 Minute Test. Editing is "D" for Difficult. Aforementioned "D" is likely grade on this submission.

Back in 2015, Phil said a Smiley Face was optional. It is therefore in an expression of good faith, and a nod to the LibriVox gods... :D (Darnit! Don't know the ins and outs of Smilies.)

Happy Easter
