Thanks for the feedback. Do you mean something like [quoted fragment] "footnote" Coleridge "end footnote" and so on?
Correct.

Hi there! Yes that is how you claim a section however 1st I need you to read your welcome email to Librivox and do the 1 minute technical recording and post it to Listeners Wanted. Once you receive a pass feel free to come back here and claim any open section!

Lynda
Thank you so much, Lynda. Went ahead and did as you suggested. Wow.... kind of nerve wracking. I haven't felt that nervous about turning something in since my college days. LOL. Thanks again. Looking forward to being a part of this community.

You most certainly may have that section. How would you like to show up in the catalog? what name? It can be anything including your forum name.

I will put that in as your catalog name. the text and all information about recording and naming your files is found in the very first post of this project thread. #4 to be exact
#4 Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5725.
Please follow those guidelines and ask if anything is confusing. :D

Hi Heather!

I finally got through all your Chapters - you are a VERY good and smooth reader - it is a pleasure to listen to your work! Here is your PL feedback - mostly it is just putting the Footnotes where they belong so it is not confusing to the reader.

Has someone told you that when you edit your recordings it is best to work from the bottom of a Chapter's footnotes to the top? That way the time stamps that are provided do not change. If you go from the top down it can get difficult to find the place to edit as you have changed things prior to the time stamp and thus the time stamp provided now is not accurate. Please let me know if you have any questions - this feedback should be fairly quick to edit.

Section 23
0:56 – heard 71/2 duckets – a “d” in English currency is actually “pence” so this should be 7 ½ pence
2:11 – heard “Thou hearest neither this nor that” should be “Thou hearest neither that nor this” (you reversed this and that)
2:41 – heard “thou” – not in sentence – please remove
10:59 – heard “spoken” should be “spoke”

Section 50
6:48.5 at the end of “peril of drowning” please move the footnote spoken at 7:02 to this spot. It will make more sense here.
9:56.5 heard singuled should be “sing ULTS”
9:58 – more footnote from 10:09 (sobs) to after singults please
10:09 – now the footnote for Colin Clout’s…. should be right after “wrong?” without extra silence.
12:54 – after carged please insert the footnote at 13:43.5 – 13:50
14:49 – after Armada’s please insert the footnote at 15:03.5 to 15:09.5
14:59.5 – after Armada’s please insert the footnote at 15:10 to 15:15.5
17:56.5 – missing “of war” in men of war to perform…
19:35 – heard “above” should be aboard
23: 23:15 - after star please insert the footnote at 24:24 to 24:27 for Gervase 15 - after star please insert the footnote at 24:24 to 24:27 for Gervase…
24:24 – now the footnote for Linschoten’s…. should be right after “him.” without extra silence.
25:09 – heard “hot” should be “shot”
Please add a second of silence to the end of the recording.

Section 51
4:12 – after withered please insert the footnote at 4:15 – 4:19 (Raleigh’s Discovery…)
8:07 – heard “histories” should be “historians”

Section 52
3:16 - after “into the world.” please insert the footnote at 3:53.5 – 3:57
6:53 – after “chaplin..” please insert the footnote at 7:16.5 – 7:19.5
9:38 – after “judge..” please insert the footnote at 10:01.5 – 10:04.5
15:57 – after “household.” please insert the footnote at 16:09 – 16:14
17:35 – after “pan..” please insert the footnote at 17:37 – 17:40

Section 53
3:59.5 – after “tipstaff..” please insert the footnote at 3:47 – 4:00
12:24 – after “imagination...” please insert the footnote at 12:32.5 – 12:38 (plus edits)
12:36.5 – heard “Royal Science” should be “Royal Society”
12:38.5 – missing “End Footnote”
12:38.5 – please add a bit of silence and then say “Books to Read”
Please check that you have 5 seconds of silence at the end.

Thanks so much for the compliments and feedback! I had listened to someone else's recording to hear whether they were saying footnotes or not and I guess it just happened that the person said "footnotes" directly after it. I'll get to work on the changes!
