Should I read the asterisk footnotes, and if so when? Right after the word asterisked, or at the end of the sentence?
I am not sure how footnotes are being handled in this project. Usually if they do not add anything to understanding the text, we skip them, like just a reference to a work or something. I will wait a bit for more information before telling you definitively the answer. As to where to insert them, that also is usually up to the reader, either at the asterisk or at the end of the sentence. Let me get another opinion, OK?

Ok, thanks. I made a recording in which I read the footnotes at the end of the paragraph in which they occur. That is easily fixed if that is not a good place for them. ( : I did upload the file for approval before I saw your message above so please disregard that file. I like this text, and I was eager to get started recording it so I perhaps jumped the gun a bit. :)

No problem at all. In fact let's let the proof listener chime in but I suspect your way will be fine. :D

Hi Peaceblossom!

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner - I have been busy with medical things.

First, you have a great, expressive reading voice! It was a pleasure to listen to your recording! I do have some PL feedback for you. To answer your question about the footnotes - they needed to go where the * is placed and to also have the words Footnote and End Footnote placed around them. I have made the notes of what you need to do below. Please do not do any other changes as when we PL we just listen to the changes - not the whole recording again.

Your file name currently is - englishlitboysandgirls_31_128kb where it should be englishlitboysandgirls_31_marshall_128kb Please update the file name when exporting and uploading your work once you have completed this list.

There is a moderate amount of background noise. Please noise clean and then make sure your volume is in the 89 dB range. Let me know if you need help.

3:30 – 3:33 – please put Footnote and End Footnote before and at the end of “Harleian MS., 5910.”
4:24 - Please move/insert “Footnote Collection, from the French word recueillir, to gather. End Footnote” after Recuyell…
7:00 – 7:08 – repeat of what starts at 7:09 His house came to be known…
7:51 - Please move/insert “Footnote Another word for sayings, from the French dire, to say. End Footnote” after The Dictes…. Remove the 2nd saying of “Dictes which you inserted in the footnote by mistake.
10:09 – remove the “all” – should just be “though”
15:56 – heard “among them” should be “among whom”
17:32 – heard “foreign language” should be “foreign tongue”
18:05 – heard “to take action” should be “to action”

That is all! So export the file with the updated name as I gave you above and post the link in this forum along with the new time and I will take a peek!
