Hi Laurice, and welcome to Librivox! Great to have you aboard.

For the time being, I can reserve you Sections 84 and 85 for up to one month. This will give you the time to complete your one-minute-test, which we recommend, before you start recording anything in a project.

The test's purpose is to check that your technical settings are all up to LV standard. You can read all about it here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

Please post the test in the Listeners Wanted forum: viewforum.php?f=21 and someone will check it and give you feedback or advice if needed.

As soon as the test is ok'ed, please post the results back here, and then I can assign you the sections officially.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

Good luck with the test !

Is this what you needed for me to begin?

Perfect. You're okay to start recording for projects.

You're sounding great to me and certainly meeting librivox standards :D

Section 36, page 78-80 done.

Pardon the delay. I had to get a pop filter and arm for my desk.

I'll finish up the other sections I'm assigned tomorrow. Knight's honor :D

Yes, you're all good to go now!

Just noticing your signature-line about "Dancing in the Rain", there's actually an Australian country music song by that exact name : https://drive.google.com/file/d/17LgFKCYdNEoUInsPbVzxU0tG0LBLzbHQ/view?usp=sharing

So it looks like you're definitely in the right Librivox poetry project!

A truly excellent reading! The reading itself is flawless ... all we need now is just the standard 5 seconds of silence added to the end of the recording ... your recording has about one second's silence at the end at the moment. This is standard Librivox practice for all recordings, so that in progressive listening there is a brief pause between consecutive recordings in a collection.

You have a fine resonant voice ... have you considered taking on a role in one of the plays being recorded in the Drama Section? Link is here: viewforum.php?f=27

In these projects, everyone records their roles separately in individual files, and then they are assembled into the final form of the play.

Thanks,
Chris

Very fine readings, Adrian.

37, 56, 70, 74 are PL-OK

With 72, "The River and the Road", Verse 2, Line 1, I can hear "The Red Rose goes awinding", rather than "The Red Road goes awinding". An easy word-substitution to make, at least until you see this: https://safe-nomad.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/A-950-pixels.jpg
Also at Verse 4, Line 1, I hear "The Sun runs in silence", rather than "The River runs in silence".
At Verse 9, Line 1, there is "But so, but you will waken", rather than "Not so, but you will waken".

Thanks,
Chris

Obviously written in the days when the sacrifice of life was considered worthwhile in a noble cause :hmm:

You flatter me, sir :D
I'll open up the project file and insert the extra 5 seconds at the end there. That way there's a smooth transition between readings :)
I'll upload an edited track and the other recordings later today for sure.

And thank you, Chris! :D I am still quite shy, but I will check it out and see what's available.
