Bonjour, Maria, from France!

Since my contribution to the Summa Theologica project is winding down with its completion, I am willing to collaborate on this project starting with these sections, for example:

3 Aeterni Patris (On the Restoration of Philosophy) August 4, 1879
12 Nobilissima Gallorum Gens (On the Religious Question in France) February 8, 1884
15 Immortale Dei (On the Christian Constitution of States) November 1, 1885
22 Libertas (On the Nature of Human Liberty) June 20, 1888
28 Sapientiae Christianae (On Christians as Citizens) January 10, 1890
35 Au Milieu Des Sollicitudes (On the Church and State in France) February 16, 1892
38 Providentissimus Deus (On the Study of Holy Scripture) November 18, 1893
43 Satis Cognitum (On the Unity of the Church) June 29, 1896 - Part 1
44 Satis Cognitum (On the Unity of the Church) June 29, 1896 - Part 2
55 Graves De Communi Re (On Christian Democracy) January 18, 1901

Happy to have you over here! :D These are all yours!

I'm off to finish PL'ing the last section of the Summa right now (which I have been trying to get to since last night)!

May I take on Sections 30 and 31 (Rerum Novarum)?

I've listened to speeches and read interpretations and analyses about this encyclical, but have never read the original content.

I realize they're long, but I have tons of open time in January, so would like to give a try. (Maybe it'll be on a test later. . .)
All yours! Have fun!

Thank you!
Just finished first draft of my recording for Section 30 -- and have a few questions :) I don't see a way to attach a pdf file of one page to this post, so here are my questions and page 226 (original document page number) has three examples to illustrate:

1) No referring to footnotes, is that correct?
2) There's an interesting typo about half way down the page -- should I record it as "on foot and"? My best guess -- would that be the sort of phrasing used in 1891?
3) At the bottom of the page, quoting Tertullian (but there are many examples of quotations throughout), text to be read as "...employed quote in feeding the needy...of the shipwrecked end quote."
4) No example on this particular page, but when another document is referred to using quotation marks and italics, anything special needed?

Thanking you in advance for your patience and guidance :help:, I'm loving this!

Glad you are enjoying it!

To answer your questions.

1) Footnotes are not obligatory in this case. You can include them if you want to, as they are just references to where quotes are from. I checked the Vatican website and they are on there too, so I assume they may have been with the original encyclical. If they were footnotes obviously added on by someone else later I would say absolutely do not include them.
2) I checked the Vatican translation, and it reads the same way "by setting on foot and maintaining many associations..."
3) Yes, that is an acceptable way to read the quotes. Or if you wish, you could change the tone/way you read those parts so that is obvious it is a quote/different voice. Whichever way you are comfortable with is fine with me! :-)
4) No, I don't think anything special is needed in those cases.

Hello,

I'm interested in reading these two sections, if they're still available:
    [*]Section 25, On Italian Immigrants
[*]Section 57, On the Holy Eucharist

      Thanks,
      Alexandra

          Hi Maria,

          Here is section 25:

Let me know if there is anything I should change or redo.

          https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/encyclical_25_leoxiii_128kb.mp3

For my name, can I just use initials (AA)? Or if that doesn't work, can I use the name ReaderAA

          Thanks,
          Alexandra

Thank you, Alexandra! AA works fine. :-)

Nice job! There is one minor correction needed. At 1:29 you said "they are in a manner are". It should read "they in a manner are". The first "are" needs to be removed.

If you could fix that and reupload, that would be great!
