The response I got was that if it's a post-1924 publication, we can record it only if it's in gutenberg.org. They have a legal team that can clear and verify which works are out of copyright; we don't, so we rely on gutenberg.org. Otherwise, any pre-1925 publication is fine. And as of 1st January next year, it will be any pre-1926 publication (published in 1925 or earlier).
We won't be able to host "The Strange High House in the Mist" until 2027, I think.

That's alright! I also learnt something for when the issue arises again
Thank you, Alix & Rapunzelina!
I'll be posting Parts II & III of "The Insanity of Jones" within a few days.
(I've been distracted by some minor political events.)

Hi entervinput - this was lovely to listen to, thank you for submitting it! I've marked it as PL ok, but there are a couple of tiny PL notes worth fixing if you can, but they don't ruin the recording.entervinput wrote: ↑November 11th, 2020, 6:43 am Here's my submission:

I hear an echo/double voice at around 42:14
It's a little on the quiet side at 86db - if you're making an edit anyway, 87-91 is ideal, with a target of 89
Thank you for this - I love a haunted house story and this one is perfect.grant007love wrote: ↑November 12th, 2020, 3:06 pm Hello again Rapunzelina!

One PL note - you've missed the title and author name which should come after 'read by...' from the intro. It's around 00:19
If you're making that edit anyway, you're a tiny bit on the quiet side too - just under the 87-91 range at 86.8. I wouldn't have flagged it if I wasn't giving another note so don't worry too much, but the closer you can get to 89, the better.
Oh no! Sending strength and good Mac vibes your way!
Suckin’ at something is the first step to being sorta good at something.

Thanks for the cheering on, Rapunzelina & Alix!
My latest Mac woes are unexpectedly and suddenly neutralized; must have been the good vibes you spirited my way.
Stay tuned for Parts II & III of "TIofJ" -- vintage Blackwood, that I am still shocked about not even having heard of, before a few months ago.

(Now if I can just get past my chagrin at sounding so American, especially compared to the dulcet British tones of Alix and Erin (Newgate Novelist)...)

I fixed the part at 42:14, and the file is a little louder too. The MP3 URL with the new version is the same as before.
