Hello!! Here is Chapter 2 - https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/yearsprayermeetingtalks_02_banks_128kb.mp3 - I'm sorry it took so long to finish.
Duration - 00:10:36:42

Please let me know if there's anything I need to fix.

Cheers,

Kenric
Greetings -

Chapter 2 was nicely read with good pace and clarity.

Just two minor corrections are needed and this will meet all the qualifications for PL OK status.

TIME: 03:03 TEXT: "Strayed or stolen — a religious experience!" Reading has "stayed" instead of "strayed".

The volume of the file came in at 85.7 dB, just below the desired level of 86 dB.

Keep up the good work, Kenric.

Lomond
Hi Lomond,

I've made the corrections to the recording. By the way, where does the file tell you that it was recorded with a volume at 85.7 dB? I normalized the track to make it sound a little louder:

I use a software called Checker to check the technical aspects of each file. Go to https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker for more information.

Here are sections 36 and 37.

36
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/yearsprayermeetingtalks_36_banks_128kb.mp3
9:02

37
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/yearsprayermeetingtalks_37_banks_128kb.mp3
7:31

Could I also have: 29 My Gospel?

Also, I incorrectly named #36 initially as 29 (I was thinking of chapter 29 when I was typing the name of the file). So https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/yearsprayermeetingtalks_29_banks_128kb.mp3 can be deleted or overwritten when 29 is posted.

Thanks,

M

Hi Lomond,

I just downloaded Checker and it looks like the most recent file I attached (with the corrections) matches the Volume requirement you were looking for (According to Checker my new file [above] has a volume of 88.5 db). Please let me know if there's anything else you need me to correct!

Cheers,

Kenric

I'd like to read 28 Homesickness, if I may.

I am enjoying these short readings.

Thanks,

M

Chapter 03 mp3 uploaded. Length 10.16.93 mn/sec/sec
Submitted by Rebecca Eden Walker (please use this name in the catalog)

This is my first recording AND first time using Audacity. Please advise me on improvements I should make. I could not find a tutorial on softening S's specifically (on YouTube) -- guidance appreciated on this amazing software.
Thanks. BeckyWTX

Awesome, thanks! I updated your catalogue page with your preferred name. You can take a look here: https://librivox.org/reader/15245 Do you have a preference as to what I should call you?

I've entered that chapter into the MW for Lomond to listen to. But since you're probably eager for feedback, as it is your first recording, I may listen to it myself if he isn't able to in the next few days. :)

I don't know if there is anything built in to Audacity for S's, but there is a plug-in you could try. I have never experimented with it myself, but you may find that you like the result. Here is some info about it, from our wiki page: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=De-Essing_Files

chapter 24 mp3 submitted.
Duration 11.09.75 m/ss/ss

Thank you for your suggestions for improvement! (Note: I did NOT normalize since that sent Volume to 92.1)
