A Year's Prayer-Meeting Talks by Louis Albert Banks (1855 - 1933).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/a-years-prayer-meeting-talks-by-louis-albert-banks/
This is a series of 52 talks, all of which were delivered by Rev. Banks in the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Cleveland, Ohio on a weekly basis over the course of one year. They are here compiled and published by the author "with the prayer and hope that in suggestive and illustrative material they may be of service and blessing." (Devorah Allen)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/yearsprayermeeti00bank/
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Please do read the Scripture references given at the start of each chapter!

Greetings -

Lomond would love to DPL this book but, if there is someone who is just itching to do it, Lomond will step aside.

Welcome to LibriVox, Kenric! And welcome to this project as well! :D I believe I saw you on the facebook group not long ago. Lovely to run into you again here! I see that you've already successfully navigated your one-minute test, so you should be all set! Everything you need to know should be contained in the first post, but please let me know if any questions arise.

Oh yes, and before I forget, what name would you like to use as your catalogue name? It can be your forum name, real name, or some pseudonym, just as you wish. I can also add a link to a blog or website if you have one.

 I had the same feeling as Lomond, so I was just lurking a bit.
So, since he is on board, I'll do some reading. Sounds good to me anyway. 8-)

I don't usually take sections in groups, but in this case I'd like to take 48-51, a subject that greatly interests me.

I'm sure his prayer meeting talks are more more erudite than mine, though I've given many.
(But, probably not as good as my dad's  )

All yours, thank you!

From the bit that I've skimmed over, I'm not sure if I'd call them erudite. They are quite down to earth, I feel. But of course, you can make your own judgement from what you read. 8-)

Perfect! Then here is your personal reader page-------> https://librivox.org/reader/15184 Here you will see every project you've participated in, both past and present. At the moment, of course, there's only this one, but hopefully that will change soon as you branch out. :D You can access this page by clicking your name in the MW of any project you're signed up for.

And, with a DPL lined up, and 14 sections claimed, I think it's time to head off to Readers Wanted!
