Hi Michele, just FYI...
I am in the final 10 days before simultaneous close of escrow on selling one house and buying another, and organizing The Big Move.
So I am temporarily out of LV circulation, but plan to dive right back in, the first week of June.

At the rate we're going, this project will still be open, and if not another one is coming! Take care and enjoy your Big Move.

Hello Michele,

Here's a story for this collection:

Link: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/dreamscollection2_inthetower_bryusov_s_128kb.mp3
File length: 11:42
Name of story: "In the Tower: A Recorded Dream"
Author: Valery Bryusov (1873-1924)
Source: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/53380/53380-h/53380-h.htm#IN_THE_TOWER

The editor of this edition is presumably the translator, but the source doesn't state that outright, so I'm not sure whether to list him as the translator.

Thank you!
For the time being, I'll need a little more time than usual to PL sections that come in on weekdays. Thanks for your patience.

Hello Michele,

I've had to admit defeat with the third one I was trying to do for this collection. It just wouldn't come out right, but maybe if I give it a rest it'll be fine for the next collection! In the meantime, here is a reverie:

A Reverie by Nellie Seelye Evans (?-?)

Duration: 1.15

Good evening -

I was hoping to contribute this piece to this collection. I've uploaded the file to the shared drive:

Time: 3:43
MP3 URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/dreamscollection2_dreamofkingkarnavootra_dunsany_dwd_128kb.mp3

Here's my contribution. Wasn't sure if it was ghost or dream since it 'seems' a bit of both!

Daniel, your recording is PL OK and your file checks out in overall tech specs.
However, from 2:05 to the end, volume kicks up to 93db. The file would benefit from lowering just this segment Effects/Amplify -3 (in Audacity) to better match the rest of the file which is within range from 89-91.
I don't recall this Dunsany tale, though I am pretty sure I've heard them all. It's a nice addition to Dreams. Thank you.

Thanks, Dan. The Night School is PL OK. Interesting story, nostalgic, dreamy, spooky, definitely qualifies. Reminds me of that heavy metal song I can't remember the name of at present. Children marching through school in unison, like in a factory. Teachers scolding. A British group. I'm thinking maybe they got the idea from this story.
I've never heard of the Unz Review, or James Hopper. I'll have to take a look through there for more stories.
Anyway, good find!

Michele -

I made the adjustments to the recording and re-uploaded it. Let me know if that words. :D

I thought I'd repost this since it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle.

In The Tower is PL OK. Intriguing story, well read. My dreams certainly seem so real I sometimes can't tell them apart from reality! I remember one time I drove my husband's red pickup truck off a cliff. It went nose down into the water and slowly began to sink. As the cab began to fill with water, it dawned on me that all I needed to do was wake up!

You do right to keep track of your files and help your BC remember them if it goes beyond a week or so, because things do sometimes slip through the cracks. There is a lot going on all over the place, here and at home, and we are all just fallible beings.
