I had never heard of her, but as I read her story today, I felt a deep appreciation for her life mission. I live on land that was taken from Indians, and am inspired by their values and wisdom. They are good neighbors.
I submitted my 1-minute test today and await the OK/feedback. I'm eager to begin recording for you!

Thanks,

Welcome, Grace.
I will add you to our catalog of readers and assign that section. I’m pleased you found a connection... it’s not required, but always makes things more interesting!
Please read the first post, where you will find the information you need and once you get the OK on your test, you’ll be ready to go.

Here is Chapter 4, A Maiden Crusader, Frances Willard

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/heroinesofservice_04_parkman_128kb.mp3
Duration: 29:10

Any advice? All the while I was recording with Audacity, there were white rectangles and squares flashing. It doesn't seem to have effected the recording quality but I fear at some point, it will just flash off.

I will go into the technical section of LibriVox and, if need be, go back to Best Buy where I got my MacBook Pro.

I have no idea about your flashes. I've never experienced anything similar.

PL NOTES:

º 01:42 - I hear "Is Nature like an open book. Alfred Lord Tennyson. . ." the author's name needs to be cut since it is considered a reader's note.

º 06:03 - I hear "Truth breathed by cheerfulness. William Wordsworth. . ." the author's name needs to be cut from here as well.

º The silence at the end should be around 5 seconds long; your ending is almost 6.5 seconds.

Checker: Passed

Hello,

May I claim section 7 - Mary Antin? I would also love to do section 5 - Julia Ward Howe, if that is allowed.

I am a new reader for LibriVox, and will start on the section as soon as I get feedback about the test I uploaded with my new microphone.

For the reader catalogue name I would like: Lynette Caulkins
forum name is: lcaulkins
personal URL is http://whatahootquilts.blogspot.com

Fancy some fun character recording? Small parts needed in these dramatic novels: Clouds of Witness | Ivanhoe (DR)

Welcome to Librivox! I will add you to our catalog of readers and sign you up for both sections. Please be sure to read the first post. Also, I would caution that if you are new to recording, there is a steep learning curve, so not to take on too much too quickly 8-)

Thanks! I'm looking forward to this. I won't sign into anything else until I've finished these sections and am comfortable with the entire process. :D
