This is almost perfect, but the volume is too low at around 83 DB. Can you amplify it please to bring it up to the required standard? (86092, with around 89-90 preferred). Let us know if you need help to do this.
Reuploaded a normalized clip, that should do it.

Lovely reading, nice voice, nicely done.

Just one issue:
~1.27 the text says Men of eminent parts... I'm not sure what I hear (emittent?) but it isn't eminent

FYI only. The word 'shew' is a now archaic spelling of the word show, and is pronounced the same (ie, rhymes with oh rather than oo)

Section 178 - The Frogs and The Mice - 3:42

I apologize for the delay. Some things happened and I’m not at home (my usual place of recording) and won’t be for a while, so I feel the quality is lacking. I tried to clean up the audio, but it sounds like I’m at a bathroom or something!lol Will it do? If not, let me know and I’ll try recording it some place else.

Thank you.

Sure, we all undestand that things happen, but it helps to check in and let us know..
Anyhow, I'm glad you got this in before I had to orphan it.

Yes, there is a lot of reverb, or "empty room" resonance. But, it is still acceptable and nicely read.

Just a couple of issues to keep in mind for future recordings.

-- The file name is incorrect. Somehow you haeve "00" at the end
-- We need about 5 seconds of silence at the end, and you had only about 2

It was just easy for me to fix these things and upload them, so you recording is PL OK.

Thanks so much for the extra effort!
Best wishes.

Oops, I wrote email where I should have written post. Sorry!
‘See PL notes’ is a bit opaque, isn’t it? It is just means ‘see the post which says what needs to happen’.
PL stands for Peer Listen /er (ie, someone else listening to your recording)
Now, I can’t remember at this point either. So what I do is search using the Search topic box . I put in just your forum name and search on that. The relevant posts appear in reverse order. I have to scan down through them, but when I find the relevant post, it tells me I said:
Section 4:
Very nice reading.
* The volume on this is way too low - only 83 dB as measured by Checker. Our target is 89 dB with a range of 86-92 dB. If you need help adjusting this, let me know, but since section 3 was correct, may be just an oversight.
* You have omitted to say “Fables of Aesop and Others, by Aesop” just before the fable name
* Could you correct the pause and stumble around 2.35, which is jarring to a listener?
(Optional, but I've added it as there are some corrections to be made): you may wish to double check your pronunciation of "ignominious".

Always ask when you don’t know. All happy to help.
Thanks Jane, that's really helpful and a very clear explanation, with great suggestions

Here's the fourth chapter:
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_004_128kb.mp3 2:48

About loudness, I still just amplifying until the max and use my eye to see that it falls between -12 and -6 most of the time. If there's a better way of doing this, I'd like to know. This time there was one loud moment, which pushed everything else down, but I fixed it.

Thanks for your leadership!

Thank you for this. The volume is now just under 89 dB, which is perfect. I commend you to the Checker utility, which I run every file of mine and every recording for PL through, to check the basics. It's mentioned on the Newbie's Guide link and is invaluable. See here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker If you scroll down on the Information tab, it will tell you the dB rating.

Your recording had a bare 1 sec of silence at the end of it, whereas the beginning info on the first post of every project says: There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording. Please remember this on any future recordings. As this revision had been quite a while in coming, and as there were no other changes to be made, I have fixed it and reuploaded the corrected version, thus it is now PL OK.

Thank you! The only issue on this one was your final silence a bit too short. There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording. On this occasion, I have adjusted it for you and thus marked the recording as PL OK, but if you could remember for any future recordings?

Nice reading. I regret to say there is one thing needing fixing:
the second word as is omitted ~ 1.35 The text says as fierce as tigers (but I just hear "as fierce tigers")

Thanks for you good work, Jane! :)

WE HAVE ORPHANS

There are four more sections open, after waiting for the two-month deadline.

I'd like to have short turn around time for these last sections.
We are getting close to finishing this project. :)

Thank you,
