Please review and comment if there are ant issues with the recording. I used Audacity for the recording program. Mono recording, Project Rate 44100

Thanks I look forward to doing some more recordings.
Hi Kennon, and thank you for this.
Nice reading - you have a most calm and pleasant voice.
PL feedback thus:

- You have mispelled 'fabels' instead of 'fables' in your file, which needs fixing.
- You have left out the required 5 secs of silence at the end.

Improvement suggestions (these are optional):
- There's quite a bit of 'mouth noise' on your recording, eg, 1.16m, 1.24, 1.27 etc, which are visible on your waveform in what should be silences in the pauses. It may be worth seeing if you can eliminate/reduce this with a round or two of Noise Reduction. Let me know if you need help to do this. I usually have to do it. I ran your file through 3 quick rounds (selecting 3 different places where noise was loudest), and it emerged much cleaner and easier to listen.
- Are you able to remove or avoid the plosives in future, perhaps by changing your position or that of the mike? They are a trifle distracting (eg, 20.5, 23 etc). I had a lot of problems with these until I got a P filter. Magic :-)

Never be afraid to run phrases together and ignore some of the commas in a text where ever it makes better sense to you and reads better - they were rather over fond of commas in the 19th century!

Hi, thanks for this, appreciate your revising it. I'm sorry to say there is a very loud clack! sound at 2.45 which needs removing before I can pass it. There's another (not quite as loud) at 3.02
What a lovely voice you have, I like listening to it.

Hi;

I posted a correction file.

I added 5 seconds of silence at the end of the recording and removed some of the lip noise. I ran it through Noise reduction and then did micro editing of most of the lip noise.
The total runtime is 2:58.

Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you! PL OK now.
Incidentally, there's a couple of threads with helpful advice in the Need Help? Got Advice? part of this Forum, because lots of us come up against this problem. One suggestion was to drink more, though I think they were only referring to water.

Thank you for this.
Just one bit of text skipped over
~ 1.41 text says 'and on whom we...'
I hear 'and who we...'

and could you reduce the overly long silence before 'End of fable' to 2 secs or less please?

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_052_128kb.mp3.

It is 1 minute and 50 seconds in length, as read by the Audio position. Thanks for that tip. I have shortened the amount of time at the beginning and end to the desired 1/2 to 1 second at the beginning and about 5 seconds at the end. It should also be at the required 89 level.

I apologize if my files have been not up to Librivox specs. I have tried in vain to rid my files of that static sound. I am now paying to have an audio engineer see if he can find the source so I can fix it myself in future.

Thank you.

I'll save this for you.
I don't see you in the LV Catalog, and I need to add you before I can officially assign this to you.
How would you like to be listed? You may use your real name, or any pseudonym or nickname that you wish.
On the road again, so delays are possible

Larry, just a reminder.
Could you alter the link for 71 to the correct filename please? I've marked it PL OK, but the link still points to the old, misnamed file ('fabels'). The MW wouldn't allow me. Sent you a PM but you might have missed it.

Hi again Noelle.
Is it possible you uploaded the wrong file, or the previous one? Because this one still has almost 3 secs at the beginning, and only about 2.5 at the end.
It is also still too quiet, I'm afraid.
I don't understand about 'that static sound' which I simply don't hear, even with good headphones and volume at maximum. :hmm: :hmm:
I have zero problem with any static or background noise in the file, just the 2 things already mentioned: silences and too quiet, both of which I commented on the 10th and both of which still there. Perhaps you could recheck?
Also, your filename isn't quite right. Needs to have a final _aesop before the section number, as outlined on page 1 of this thread. ie, fablesofaesop_052_aesop_128kb.mp3
Apart from those, it's a quite lovely reading!
Do ask if you need more help - manyof us had some difficulty at the beginning, and this is a very encouraging and friendly forum, more than willing to help out. We are all volunteers here, doing the best we can.

Thanks for the feedback. I cut the silence and read the wrong part again (actually, I read it right even for the first time but I was probably talking too fast for the words to be heard properly). Hope it's better now.
