166 - The Hawk and The Farmer

Holly, cannot accept as is. Too many distracting sounds (bell?, thumps, mouse clicks) that should have been removed: ~ 26s , 31s, 36s, 54s, 1.2, 1.16, 1.19, 1.27, 1.36, 1.385,
A stumble at 1.165
And could you leave a full 5 secs silence at the end please?
regards

The editor sure likes to talk about how you should treat your servants! :D
Nice reading, nice voice and read at a good pace (I'd only read more quickly if you want to, I was fine with the pace).

But I agree with Larry re. some of your pauses - some too long, end ones too short at times. I do recommend you pay attention to how many times you leave a pause of over 2 secs during a recording. (I know I do this, but I trim mine down in editing).

First - it's essential to get the silences at the beginning and end of every recording correct: no more than 1 sec (and preferably only .5) at the beginning, and a full 5 secs (as close as you can) at the end. Yours are varying and not reliably on spec.
80 needs a full 5 secs silence at the end.
I let 91 go by, though end is coming in just under 4.7.
On 92, you have a few very long silences during the recording. What's 'very long'? Anything over about 2 secs or so. If you leave too long a one, people start wondering if the file is at an end, if something is wrong with the recording, etc etc. I know it doesn't because I'm looking at the waveform, but listeners rarely do. Could you reduce them please?
On 92, these ones: ~ .23, those between the intro Librivox stuff (they really do not need to be so long, especially on a very short recording), ~ 1.2 (over 2 secs), ~ 1.35 (almost 3 secs), ~ 3.03
94 - reduce silence ~ 0.16 Increase end silence to a full 5 secs
96 PL OK!
Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I still intend to make these edits and resubmit. Are these sections still assigned to me?

Yes, they certainly are.
And we are keen to get it finished.
Let me know if you need editing help on the ‘how to’.

WE HAVE ORPHANS !

I've spent some time going through this project to clean up loose ends.

Some files I have edited where the only issues were technical ones - volume, silences, file names, etc. - things that didn't need new recording, or that I could edit easily.

Expired claims have been vacated, and others noted with claim dates and PM's sent.

It would be nice to finish this for January, but it looks as if we'll need to carry this over to February.

Sure. Looks as if you need some revisions on your one-minute test.
So, let me know when you have that all squared away with a final approval.

Also, I need to know how you would like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog. Many of us just use our real names since this is how we are credited for all of our work, buy you may choose any pseudonym or nickname you wish.

Once I have all of this, I can assign this section to you -- looking for short turn around on these last abandoned sections.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Well, proper LibriVox protocol is to wait until a claim has been acknowledged and assigned before recording and submitting something.
Before I can even do this, I need to know how you would like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog. Many of us use our real name because this is how we are credited for our work, but you may use any pseudonym or nickname that you wish.

Glad to see you have a good report on your one minute test!
