178 is too low in volume, coming in at only 84.9 dB. Our target is 89 dB, with an acceptable range of 86-92 dB.

As to the sound you hear in 178 -- I hear them too and I think they are what we call "mike bumps." Slightly bumping the microphone or something close to gives this kind of sound. I don't know what your set up is, but you might see if this is a possibility. These are slight, so I don't think you need to do them over.

Thanks for your good reading. :)
Ah good catch- I amplified this one. Apologies on the delay redoing this- I hooked up one of those mic shock mount holders to my stand and rerecorded- I couldn't bear to hear all that noise interrupting this lush serene poetry but I so appreciate your willingness to accept my submission anyhow.
I am much happier with this version:

May I also claim Sections
49: Duke Wu's Temple by Tu Fu &
50: The Music of the Spheres by Tu Fu ?

These two are quite short, may I record them back to back?

Cheerio! :)

I just went ahead and recorded the next two together since they're so short, hope that's OK!

Sections 49 and 50:

How does this sound for an intro/outro combining the two? I can split them up if desired as well.

Woo! No mic bumps twice in a row! Yay!

Thank you, TriciaG.

sacredsounds, I understand your desire, but we've set the selections to be read and heard separately. Maybe I was being pigheaded in this, but I thought the poems deserved their own space.

I might add that this is not always my practice.

Thank you.

I still have to read the script of the intro. You'd think I'd have it memorized by now, but ... no.

I would like to claim 52 The Crescent Moon and 53 To the moon.

Should I read the notes?

52 and 53 are yours! Thank you!

I thought long and hard about including the notes---they are interesting to me and, I suppose, others---but I decided against them for this project.
