Thank you, Angelique! Sorry for not responding earlier - I have been very busy with school starting. I will PL these when I have time (which hopefully will be soon).

Still not a rush, Elsie.
Hopefully, I'll have the next sections out within two weeks; it'll get done and since this project is moving slowly, I don't feel that we're holding up others.

Best of luck with school!

Hi! Here is as far as I got tonight -

Angelique – these are all your sections. First, you said “Chapter” instead of “Section” in all that I have listened to so far. I believe they should be changed to “Section” as the Chapter numbers are not being followed. This is in 3 places for each recording – twice in the Intro and once at the end.

A general comment – as you know this is a standard PL however I have noticed you are changing or substituting a lot of words - here is an example of one (to be corrected farther down) - the text reads “sweat of my brow and with my ten fingers” and you read “sweat of my own brow and my very ten fingers”. There are others such as what I am listening to right now (Section 50) where you changed “great” to “such” and “before” to “beside” and “about” to “such” – this is all within about 3 minutes. As these do not affect the story they do not need to be changed - it is just something to be aware of as it happens quite regularly.

Here is the PL feedback for Sections 6, 19, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50

Section 6 – Correct Chapter/Section then PL OK

Section 19 – Correct Chapter/Section
8:59 – missing sentences: "Then I felt merry and lively, I wanted to laugh—my face never moved, nor my lips either, and yet I laughed—and so heartily." "You see, you see, you see!"
9:41 – missing word - (lehavdîl)
10:05 – missing word (sadly)

Section 46 – Correct Chapter/Section
3:10 – said “care” of a sister should be “case” – changes meaning of story.
6:08 – said “go to our lawyer” should be “go to her lawyer”
6:22 - missing word - (lehavdîl)

Section 47 – Correct Chapter/Section
4:20 – said “letter” where it should be “answer” – changes meaning of story.

Section 48 - Correct Chapter/Section and then PL OK

Section 49 - Correct Chapter/Section
1:33 – the text reads “sweat of my brow and with my ten fingers” and you read “sweat of my own brow and my very ten fingers”. Please use text wording.

Section 50 - Correct Chapter/Section and then PL OK

Lynda.
I'll examine this later, and alter what I believe does represent change of meaning.
In the meantime, I declaim "Between Two Mountains."

Hi, thanks for all your hard work! Here's section 5, "Married":

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/storiesandpictures_05_peretz_128kb.mp3
50:23

(Note: There are 10 seconds of silence at the end because it's over 30 minutes. Let me know if you want me to cut it back to 5!)

Edit: I had to find time to read the remaining stories before I claim any more, but if it's not too much, I'd love to claim 18. The Days of the Messiah, 58. The Poor Little Boy, and 59. Underground. Thank you!
That was a perfect and beautiful recording MaraBella! All you need to do now is trim the end to 5 seconds as all recordings need only 5 seconds at the end and then it will be PL OK. So please do that and re-post the link and time and I will check it and then mark it PL OK! What a long recording for you to do when you are new to LV! Way to go!
Lynda

Lynda, I made attempt to discuss this with the MC, per LibriWiki guidance.
As I received no response, I'll deal with it here, publicaly, as you so chose.

You write- "this is all within about 3 minutes ... no need to change ...
it is just something to be aware of as it happens quite regularly."

Your comments, Lynda, are unacceptable. Neither you, nor anyone else here, should take it upon themselves to communicate with any of us with any level of condescension.
This is a primary complaint I've heard as to a primary cause of readers leaving the site.
As this result is contrary to the stated mission of Librivox, as even you are not spoken to in such manner, I will not allow you to, without redress, use this pendantic tone with me (or others.)
Communicate with me with basic levels of decency and respect, or not at all.
No one has time or interest in managing increasingly hostile interactions, especially on a volunteer site.

Having said that, thank you for catching the Chapter/Section mistakes ... as a good DPL should. Each instance has been changed.
Secondly, I have noted below corrections and what remains.
Lastly, this is my final submission to this project.

Here is the PL feedback for Sections 6, 19, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50

Section 6 – Correct Chapter/Section then PL OK (DONE)

Section 19 – Correct Chapter/Section (DONE)
* 8:59 – My Note: Added. Thank you for catching this.

missing sentences: "Then I felt merry and lively, I wanted to laugh—my face never moved, nor my lips either, and yet I laughed—and so heartily." "You see, you see, you see!"

9:41 – missing word - (lehavdîl)
My Comment: In my re-listen, I determined that "lehavdîl" distracts from the rest of the story. Declination to modify, based on Narrator Discretion.
10:05 – missing word (sadly). (My Comment: Changed)
------------------
Section 46 – Correct Chapter/Section (Done)
3:10 – My note: No material change noted. Declination to change.
6:08 – My note: Deline to change as alteration of essential meaning is not present
6:22 - missing word - (lehavdîl) My note: Declination, as previously stated.

Section 47 – Correct Chapter/Section (DONE)
*4:20 – No material change

Section 48 - Correct Chapter/Section and then PL OK (DONE)

Section 49 - Correct Chapter/Section (DONE)
1:33 – Declination to Alter. Change immaterial.

Section 50 - Correct Chapter/Section and then PL OK (DONE)

Section 51 – change Chapter to Section
7:40 – Thank you. Changed.

Section 52 - change Chapter to Section

3:56 – missing word – “Phe”
My Note: Probably could have been let go, as it adds little, but as it is an omission, I'll grant you this one.

All others sections have been changed.

Wow, thank you so, so much! I had to do a few takes of that one to get the pacing and voices consistent, so I really appreciate hearing this. :) And thank you so much for stepping in to DPL us! :D

Here is the reupload with the new time:

Section 5: Married
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/storiesandpictures_05_peretz_128kb.mp3 [50:18]

The past few months have really gotten away from me, and I've been in the process of editing Section 17 and 18 for weeks now. Maryann, is this the appropriate place to ask for an extension for Section 17 (The Dead Town)? I hope to finish very soon, because I really do just need to finish editing out the breaths and background noise, but in case it's not possible to get that done before Friday, I wanted to ask for an extension to be safe.

And a sincere thank you to elsieselwyn for all the amazing hard work you've done on this project!

CC of any kind, from any source, is welcome and encouraged. I am brand new to this and hardly know what I am doing, but I'm very eager to learn!
