Thank you! Welcome to Librivox and to the Poetry collection! Your recording is lovely, the volume and sound are nice and clear, bit rate and sample rate are correct, but we need it in mono (single track) instead of stereo.neckel11 wrote: ↑April 17th, 2019, 1:50 pm 'Huswifery' by Edward Taylor (1642-1729)

Enjoy!
The poem is wonderfully read, but I'll need to consult with other admins about its status, because I don't think it is in the public domain. It might have been written in the 17th century but I think it wasn't published until 1937. But I will ask other admin that might have access to more information.
(and one note about the file-name, we use lower case letters)
So hang on tight and I'll get back to you!

Cool! The poem can be included in the collection. Sorry for the scare , but I get very pedantic about PD status.neckel11 wrote: ↑April 17th, 2019, 1:50 pm 'Huswifery' by Edward Taylor (1642-1729)

Alright, so next step is to export in mono, and re-upload with the correct file-name

Hi,
I wonder if an English translation of one of the greatest Romanian poets, Mihai Eminescu, qualifies for this project?
If it does. Please, consider my translation and recording bellow.
ODE (in antique meter) by Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889)
Translated by Cornel Nemes
Text URL: http://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/35323/pg35323-images.html
Duration:2:00
MP3 URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc191_ode_cn_128kb.mp3
This is the original poem:
“ODA
(in metru antic)
Nu credeam sa-nvat a muri vrodata;
Pururi tanar, infasurat in manta-mi,
Ochii mei naltam visatori la steaua
Singuratatii.
Cand deodata tu rasarisi in cale-mi,
Suferinta tu, dureros de dulce…
Pan-in fund baui voluptatea mortii
Nenduratoare.
Jalnic ard de viu chinuit ca Nessus,
Ori ca Hercul inveninat de haina-i;
Focul meu a-l stinge nu pot cu toate
Apele marii.
De-al meu propriu vis, mistuit ma vaiet,
Pe-al meu propriu rug, ma topesc in flacari…
Pot sa mai renviu luminos din el ca
Pasarea Phoenix?
Piara-mi ochii turburatori din cale,
Vino iar in san, nepasare trista;
Ca sa pot muri linistit, pe mine
Mie reda-ma!”
Thank you very much,
Cornel

Ok, here's the mono recording– sorry I neglected to export in mono first time around! And thanks for double-checking on the PD status– definitely better safe than sorry!Rapunzelina wrote: ↑April 19th, 2019, 2:00 amCool! The poem can be included in the collection. And this is your Reader page https://librivox.org/reader/13298
It lists all projects you've read for, so it might seem empty now, but I hope you enjoy recording and gradually fill it up!
Would you like a different "Catalog Name", like "Noah E." or something else, and/or a personal url added?
