A short little trivia, for those who are interested.

On November 21, 2017 (so exactly one year ago), I started the first book in this World's Story series. And now, 12 months later we have 3 finished books in our archive, a fourth is almost as good as finished, and this 5th book is nearly fully claimed too. :9:

I personally think, this group is doing awesome work ! Thank you all for your continued interest and dedication to this project.

That is indeed a noteworthy milestone, Sonia!

Could I contribute Section 122 to this volume?

I uploaded sec 15 "The rule of Rienzi (1347-1354), by Edward Bulwer-Lytton"
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume05_015_tappan_128kb.mp3
(15:51 m)

Just a note: today he is better known as "Cola di Rienzo". I think "Rienzi" was a medieval form.

Sonia,
This statement is in regard to section 35. A tear was all that was asked for, no more. I agree with your statement it was a beautifully sad poem.

Now onto section 34. It did indeed sound like Indian so now it is Italian. Have a listen, I think you will agree with me.

Here are 2 more and please do let me know if there are any corrections that I missed.
oh what a beautifully sad poem, I had to sob all the way through here. it was read with great sensitivity too, April, thank you very much.

Section 35 is already PL ok.

For Section 34, I found a small error ;)

> at 4:14: (p. 130) “Napoleon now agreed to help the Italians against Austria.” – I think you say “Indians” here instead of “Italians” :hmm:

The rest was fine. Great job on the Italian names too.

Thanks

and here is another famous picture annotated for you to listen to, Jim, whenever you have time :) The famous phrase "bell, book and candle" has been depicted in the centre of the painting. Wikipedia even shows the same painting in their explanation of the excommunication process: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell,_book,_and_candle
This shows how powerful the Church was even over kings.

I think that these projects are popular because they provide a lot of short but varied and interesting texts for people to record. Many thanks to Sonia for providing these for us.

thank you, Alan, and yes, that was exactly the reason that attracted me to these books when I found them :9: the short and varied topics. And I'm happy so many others share my taste.
