COMPLETE The Phantom Death and Other Stories by William Clark Russell -ck
Hi peter, youre thinking of dramatic readings i think. These recordings here are done by individual readers, no external editors come into play. You can listen to sections immediately as they are submitted thank you!

Yes, I was thinking of dramatic readings, but didn't know whether it also applied to collections and didn't want to screw up my first DPL
Sorry, I have a new question for you now. I've finished checking a couple of sections; do I just post a comment saying either "all OK" or, if there are issues, list them as I would if I would PL-ing?
Thanks Carolin

Hi peter,
Please list specifically which sections youve listened to and what the status is. If if is pl ok, thats easy, but if there are pl notes, please list what they are. You need to include time stamps for repeats and stumbles.
Id assumed youd read the faq, viewtopic.php?f=21&t=17680
See also the wiki, it has a section on proof listening https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Main_Page
It also helps to lurk around the forum and see how others are doing it thank you!

Hi Carolin,
Section 5 "So Unnecessary" DPL - OK
and
Section 10 "The Secret of the Dead Mate" DPL - OK
Narrators are doing great jobs and I'm really liking Russell's writing!

Thank you pete, great to hear
If you have time left besides proof listening, check out the frozen pirate, a really interesting book by the same author https://librivox.org/the-frozen-pirate-by-w-clark-russell/

If available I'd like to claim:
Section 8: 'Try for Her in Fifty'
Section 11: The Transport 'Palestine'
Thanks!
Been playing Return of the Obra Dinn lately, so seafaring horror is firmly on my mind. Russell is an incredibly good writer, too. Can't believe I haven't heard of him until now.

Finished Section 8 - 'Try for Her in Fifty'. A short, sweet tale of seafaring premonition. Really engaging stuff; I really felt for Huddersfield's plight. Can't wait to get started on the next one.
The checker checked out, but I made sure to listen to it as well. I didn't detect any problems other than a shaky, albeit brief, Scottish accent but please let me know if I missed anything.

Finished Section 11 - The Transport 'Palestine'. Also well written, this one made for a pretty suspenseful murder mystery.
Again, the checker said everything was fine, but please let me know if any particular problems flew over my head.
Section 11 (57:49): https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/phantomdeath_11_russell_128kb.mp3
