Hi Carolin -
You find the most fascinating stories! Can I DPL this one too please?
Lynda
What does DPL means? Sorry, new here
What are th other acronyms i will encounter most often here? Thanks.
Hi there! DPL means Dedicated Proof Listener who is the person who will listen to each of the sections of the book after each person has recorded theirs and provide feedback if needed. Sometimes at the start there is not a DPL assigned so then a variety of experienced people will pop by to PL or proof listen until a DPL is assigned. So those are 2 acronyms - another 2 are BC which means book coordinator who in this case is Carolin and then MC which stands for Meta Coordinator (the persons name who you upload files under) and is generally an Admin of the group who is responsible for the background setup and when the book is done the compilation to post to Librivox. In this case the BC and MC are the same person however anyone can BC a book, an MC will be assigned to them for the background setup and work after the recordings are all done. The BC is the person who is your contact about the book and if you have any issues. As one person put it recently- they do the heavy lifting I hope these DPL, PL, BC, MC acronyms are clearer now - and I hope I have gotten their descriptions correct!
