soupy wrote: October 9th, 2018, 10:41 am Thanks Sue :) From what I see there seems to be many women who sign their written word Jan or Mary or Sue but not many men who do that. Probably a lot of women painters beck then just as there were so many female translators.

I re-recorded the whole thing.

Sounds fine now; PL OK! :)

I hadn't thought about women, historically in the role of translators. Interesting!

Thanks for the PL, Craig. :) Yes, Nellie was a book illustrator, and artist. Her father was a noted silversmith, and she may have helped him with some of his silver designs too. (It's amazing what interesting facts turn up once you start surfing the web!)

I am uploading an eyewitness account of the 1906 SF earthquake. I do apologize for its leaking over 60 minutes (1:01:09). If it is too long for this project, I will do something else with it.

Hi Ciufi, Welcome to the Nonfiction Collection! Stetson's recollections of the San Francisco Earthquake are a most welcome addition to Vol. 60! :) The length of your recording is fine. Anything 73 minutes or under (the capacity of a CD) can go as a unit in the nonfiction collection; and, if needed, a reading can be broken into 2 parts to fit.

We do have a set file format for the Nonfiction Collection, which is outlined in Step 2 in the instructions above. I'm going to help you out this time, since it's your first snf read, and fix the file name for you. Basically, "all lower case, words all run together" are the most important things to remember. Here it is:

snf060_sanfrancisco1906_stetson_ciufi_128kb.mp3

Again, thanks for contributing to vol. 60!

Regards,
Ciufi

Mr Stetson and his son made some interesting observations that can be applied to disasters today. Thanks Ciufi :) Your reading is PLOK

Hello:

I am not at all sure that this piece belongs here, but Lynette said it might (without reading it). It is an essay, and therefore non-fiction, and it is short.

Anyway --

It is probably more humorous than most of what will be submitted here. See what you think.

Hi Dale, Welcome to the Nonfiction Collection! Yes, essays are fine for the snf, and we are happy to accept your "offering" for volume 60! :)

I tweaked your file name for you, since this is your first submission to snf. It just needed the author's name and 128kb added in:

Our dedicated proof listener, Craig (Soupy) will PL for you. I checked your specs and they were fine.
