Interesting insight into this part of Hannibal's endeavour. I found it significant that the female elephants were more daring to venture out on the raft than the males
The text itself is flawlessly read, but there is a tiny bit missing in the intro:
> at 0:16: only missing the page number, which I wanted to include for the paintings (see my special notes in the second post). Could you please insert: “painting page 336” right before you start with the text proper ?
the rest is fine
Sonia
It's not part of the title in the book.
Also: You really want page numbers? In an audio file?
Okay. *shrugs*

thanks, Jim, for another excellent section. I had heard of both Solon and Pisistratus already but didn't know such details about their political endeavours yet. Very interesting.neecheelok70 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2018, 4:27 pm Here is 10:

Thanks. I did discover that the preferred pronunciation of Pisistratus stresses the second syllable, but the Danes pronounce it my way. Hamlet and I prefer to stress the third syllable. Great minds, you know. Jim
ah yes, I see, great minds pronounce alike, as the saying goes.neecheelok70 wrote: ↑September 11th, 2018, 5:06 pmThanks. and here is a longer section, ready for PL. It's the well-known classic tale of Oedipus. I spent a few days on recording and editing it. Hope you enjoy it, Jim

And I know this is a long one, so don't feel like you need to PL immediately. It'll keep.
thanks

I did enjoy it--immensely! It is one of my favorite stories, and you rendered it in a wonderfully controlled and yet compassionate voice. It is PL OK.

Hi Rick, welcome to this project yes Section 28 is still available, so I'll sign you up for it. All the details for the intro/outro (in your case, the full disclaimer) and the correct filenaming can be found in the first post.
Looking forward to your recording. Have fun !
Sonia
thank you, April, perfect reading all through the text this is PL ok on the first go. Although I knew the story of Romulus and Remus already, this text presents new info, like why he had to plough around the city to mark the walls. Interesting. And the bloody finale was well acted out by youadr6090 wrote: ↑September 14th, 2018, 10:16 am https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume04_39_tappan_128kb.mp3 time 12:23
