Here is one more section Sonia.
well narrated, April :9: I think this is one of the first poems I hear you read. But you made it very lively with the direct speeches, I liked it a lot. This seems to be the account of one of the earliest boat regattas in history  It was quite gripping to hear who would win in the end.

I found two small things which I think would benefit from correcting, if that's ok with you:

> at 5:18: p. 238: "pilot and master both, and cheers his men" - you forgot "both", I think the sense is more clear if you add it

> at 8:37: p. 240: "and called upon the deities" - I think I hear you say "die-etees" (like die, being dead), but this word is pronounced "day-etees", or "dee-etees", because the meaning is the gods (coming from Latin "deus"). You can hear it pronounced here: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/deity

The rest is absolutely well read ! Thanks a lot for this interesting section.

Thank you for complimenting me. :9:
I did enjoy this recording and I was enthralled to see who the winner would be, same as you.

Wonderful end to the volume, especially with your excellent rendition of Longfellow's poem. Section 94 is more than just PL OK!  Jim

wonderfully sweet reading of this poem, Alan :9: I loved it very much. No errors, but could you just cut out one small thing please:

> at 0:20: "editor's note" - you can cut this bit out, simply read the note and say "the editor" at the end, just like it is written in the book. It's only with footnotes that I want this special intro, because they are situated outside the text

At the beginning you leave over two seconds of silence before you start with the disclaimer, this seems a bit long too.

And your Dionysos is brillant too, very funny role this one. I had to laugh when he really said Cuckoo  This one's PL ok.

Thanks !

Hi Sonia,

Here is section 70:
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume04_70_tappan_128kb.mp3

Track Length is 3:32.

For some reason, I was hearing my voice in my headphones as I record (first time to happen  ). If this problem affected the recording, please feel free to open the section so someone can record it.

Thanks! Have a nice day. :9:
Thanks, SaraHale. :D

don't worry, the sound is absolutely fine and it was very easy to understand it all, Sarah. No errors at all, perfectly PL ok.

I don't think it is normal though that you should hear yourself through the headphones :hmm: That would disturb me immensely while I am recording  But it seems not to have affected the sound.

Thank you for the nice reading !

Great! Thanks so much!

Yeah, I first noticed it while having a Skype call on Friday. And it continued to do that ever since. :hmm: Yeah, It did at first. I had to record a couple of times while trying to figure out the cause. I think the problem is with the laptop, not the headphones because I tried different ones I got the same problem. Well, I'm happy it didn't affect the recording.

You're very welcome. :D

Despite my neighbor deciding to get his chainsaw out and cut down a couple trees, dogs barking, sightseeing airplanes overhead and the wind kicking up and blowing the wind chimes (and all the Latin names), here is section 42 for PL

Length is 24:29

now, wow, thank you, Nemo ! This poem is wonderfully narrated and it was such an interesting story too. I kept pondering about what the cowardly deed was that gave Sextus such a bad reputation  A mighty ballad of proud men in the brave days of old. :9: (I loved that chorus)

And your feat was no less than Horatius', because you had to fight noisy neighbours and dogs and what not, and still managed to record it all flawlessly  PL ok on the first go. Excellent job, Nemo. :)
