One very minor correction... at 5:03 you are missing the word "That."
Hi Greg - I didn't listen to the section, but this one may be up to you whether you want to fix it. I've just asked for standard PL, so if it doesn't change the meaning, it's fine with me.

Hi Arrowhead - This is not a criticism of your PL'ing! I just like to make sure we're clear. Some BC's do ask for word-perfect PL'ing, where the PL'er is expected to follow along with the text. I don't do those. I ask for standard PL'ing, (defined here ) because most listeners will not be following along with the text, so the recording just needs to "sound right." If it's a small thing that doesn't change the meaning, I often find that the edit sounds worse than the original mistake, so I leave it up to the reader if they want to fix it. Please still go ahead and mention these things, just as you've done, because the reader can't decide to fix it if they don't know about it. :)

ArrowheadAussie,

Thank you for proofing this section for me. I went back and listened to the passage you mentioned. I have to agree with Smijen that the omission of the word "that," in this particular case, does not impact the meaning of the sentence at all. Since it is a "standard" proofing qualification I respectfully request that you mark this section as PL OK. Anyone who knows my work knows I work hard to read the source material as closely as possible. In this case the only way to properly correct it would be to re-record the entire sentence, which I think would make it stand out more than if it were just left alone.

Again, thank you for your good work. I hope that the next time you proof my reading there will not be any misses on my part!

Take care,

Greg

Thanks for the pointers. I wasn't sure how close it needed to be, so I went with word perfect, I now have a much better feel for how this is done... Sorry if I caused any consternation but I'm on it now :)

Hey Greg, section 1 is good, there was a different word used at 7:31, you used bolster instead of foster, but I think it has the same meaning in essence.. nice reading :)

Arrowhead,

Thanks again for proofing. When I first started with LV I used to ask tons of questions, fiddle around until I got settings exactly right, and most of all worried that I was going to make a mistake. My first Librivox mentor told me (I'm paraphrasing) that the more I work to get it right, the sooner I will be on my way to making hundreds of recordings for this great program. And he was correct. I don't have all the answers and I still make mistakes, obviously, but I love LV and am blessed to be a part of it. You have a great future here, that is evident from seeing how much you care about getting it right. Keep up the good work!

Take care,

Greg
