Section 6 is PL ok with the exception of the volume and ending silence.

The file is currently at 82.6dB. We aim for 89dB with an allowable range of 86-92dB. You have some inconsistency in the volume in that most is low but there are a few places where the volume spikes up. This means you won't be able to do a straight amplification. A few rounds of compression followed by amplification should fix things up for you.

If you are using Audacity here are some videos to help you through the process. Your version of Audacity may not be the same but these should get you close. Please let us know if you have any questions.

I don't know why your export process would cut off your ending silence. You have about 3 seconds now. Please try it again to copy over another couple of seconds before you export and then upload.

Oh, I am so sorry, someone just claimed that section about an hour before you so it is no longer available. Please keep looking, there are tons of other things waiting to be read.

Lynda,
Chapter 10 is PL OK. I have a busy day but I’ll try to PL your other chapter tonight. If not, then certainly tomorrow.

Chapter 6 the white fawn ({[ NEW UPLOAD ]})

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/mybookoffavoritefairytales_06_vredenburg_128kb.mp3

Playtime duration somehow still 19:42

Edited after following pl notes, compressed then amplified,
there is a 5 second silence ( I think ) at the end i added more so if it removes more it'll be right and that workes it seems i dunno why audacity does that, but I'm not sure about the audio level.

I hope this is better.

thank you.

Hi,

How can I upload an excerpt of my chapter in order to get some feedback before finishing the rest of it?

Thanks.
:D I'm looking for feedback on my recordings, especially on storytelling and character voices (but any feedback is welcome, I'm here to learn!). My recent contributions:

Fairytale: Tufty Riquet

Play: The Dream, role of Wovelreid: Act II, III

Hi! If you need to you can just name the excerpt the same as the Chapter would be named and follow the upload instruction and then post the link so the person who PL's will give you feedback. When you complete your actual chapter it will have the same file name so it will write over the partial file on the server when you upload it.

This is not common practice though. It takes time to PL someone's work and to do it another time is redundant. I would just submit your whole recording and get feedback on that.
