all three sections PL ok. And as always, beautifully narrated, I really like listening to your quiet voice. The part with Carthage was especially interesting as I was visiting the city some years ago. I love roaming around antique ruins.
yes that one made me wonder what a megalo-project endeavour ! Also I didn't think that the salty waters from the Atlantic would be any good to help irrigate the Saharaknotyouraveragejo wrote: ↑June 24th, 2018, 7:58 am Thanks, Sonia. I thought the bit about digging a canal from the Atlantic Ocean to flood the Sahara was particularly amusing!
thank you, April ! I hope you will learn a new thing or two with the section. Gustave Flaubert is a good author, so I'm sure the text will be pleasing.
oh yes, what an extremely interesting chapter I always loved archeology and the ancient ruins. All the meticulous work involved to get to the old walls is really fascinating. I totally enjoyed this chapter and thank you for the nice reading.adr6090 wrote: ↑June 24th, 2018, 11:31 am https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume03_022_tappan_128kb.mp3time 18:34
Here is section 22
The erupting volcano in Hawaii and knowing that many acres have been buried by lava is what compelled me to read this particular section.
I do hope that you find this as interesting of a section to listen to as I did recording it.
Looking forward to reading this one.
phew....I can finally breathe again. Seriously, thanks to your lively narration, I was totally drawn into this adventure and holding my breath at more than one dangerous point. What a ride ! And the dancing conductor sheikh on the rock was funny Were all those men standing there every day just in case a boat comes by and needs their help ?iBeScotty wrote: ↑June 25th, 2018, 2:30 pm Here is 45, Up the Cataracts of the Nile:
