Could I please get some tech help?

Here is Section 13, and you'll see from 00:28-00:44 and then 4:32 to the end, there is interference that I don't know where it's coming from or how to fix without re-recording. Appreciate any guidance on fixing this as I re-recorded many many times and wasn't able to get rid of the interference. I'm not doing anything different in these sections as in the sections with no interference.

OK, I've put section 12 in Ready for PL.

I've listened to the spots you indicated in Section 13. It definitely sounds like some sort of electrical interference but it is not the common 60Hz hum often detected, and it is only those two spots. There may be a filter that would take it out, but I am not enough of a sound engineer to advise on that. I tried using just the Noise Reduction feature in Audacity, but by the time it is eliminated, the rest of the audio is too degraded.

Unless Phillip or Amy have suggestions, I think it is best just record those two segments since they are quite short and would be easy to paste in, especially the ending.

Gouri:

A couple of notes for Section 12:

You need to reduce the amplification of the file. It came in at 94.6 dB. The acceptable range here at Librivox is 86.5-92 (mid range is about 89). Use the amplification utility in Librivox to do this.

AT 3:54 there is a repeat of the phrase, "It's my opinion" which needs to be removed.

Section 13--I listened to the entire section and the only corrections are the removal of that mysterious noise. I tried a couple of things I know, but, like Larry, I failed to get it removed. I think probably the only thing to do is what he suggested, re-record those two short sections and cut-and-paste them in to the original recording. Be sure to remove the original sections when you do this.

I enjoyed hearing your readings.

Many thanks,

Philip

Hi DrPGould,

Thanks so much for the quick review. I will work on the amplification, per your feedback, and do the re-recording for Section 13.

Regarding the repetition that you pointed out, are you asking me to remove a 3rd repetition of the phrase "In my opinion"? The text has it twice (I did a double take myself when I was reading it out loud). Please see bolded portion of text below:
But Jimmy Rabbit thought differently.

“It’s my opinion—” he said—“it’s my opinion that Johnnie Green took this old hat and put it on the giant’s head, after he had made him.”

“Made him!” Jolly Robin repeated. “You don’t mean to say that Johnnie Green could make a giant, do you?”

“Well, he knows how to make a snow-man—so I’ve been told,” Jimmy Rabbit replied. “And though I’ve never seen one before, it’s plain that that’s what this creature is.”
Thanks,
Gouri

Gouri:

I went back and re-listened to the section. I thought I heard three in there, but now there are just the two....so disregard that comment. Sorry.

Rosa

One morning, when Mr. and Mrs. Unicorn woke up, it was raining hard. "I'm glad we didn't go with that crazy old man Noah on his ark!" said Mrs. Unicorn.
