This is "The Tale-Tell Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe"
The recording time is 11:45
I downloaded the original story from http://www.feedbooks.com/book/814/the-tell-tale-heart
Also this is my first recording. I would like to be added to the catalog as "Brian Campbell" or if that's taken "Brian J Campbell"
If you need me to post or do anything else, feel free to let me know. This is my first time and I'm still learning how everything works.

I missed the above post before:
This reading is awesome! Some tech specs need to be fixed: it needs to be mono track, with a bit rate of 128 constant kbps. To fix a track already recorded in stereo in Audacity, go to menu Tracks, option "Stereo track to mono", and it will combine the double track into a single one. To change the bitrate, choose the appropriate options for mp3 in the Export window (quality: 128kbps, Bit rate mode: constant).
The volume is too low. If you applied negative amplification and still have the original, try a lower negative amplification. Or if there is no original, you'll need to apply amplification of about 11 decibels (also the last sentence "end of the tale tell heart" is even lower in volume; it may need a second run of the amplification.)
You can crop the first two seconds of silence at the beginning. And add the Librivox disclaimer in the intro, like:
"[Story title] by [Author name]. - This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
When you're ready, upload your edited recording, and post here again. Or if you have any questions, please ask ~
Welcome to Librivox! Here's your new reader page in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/reader/12482CampbellBBrian wrote: ↑April 30th, 2018, 11:46 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/bart/ghohor031_thetaletellheart_edgarallanpoe_bc_128kb.mp3

Good Afternoon,
Here is my contribution:
https://librivox.org/uploads/bart/ghohor031_whitewolfhartzmountains_marryat_kc_128kb.mp3
Text Source - http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0606061h.html
- Author Name - Frederick Marryat
- Title of the Story - The White Wolf of the Hartz Mountains
- Duration of the File - 1:00:00
This was a class project of mine so I was under time constraints. You will notice at the beginning
of the recording I am a bit nasally, as I was sick. However, I start feeling better around twenty-
minutes in. I am sorry about that!
Thank You
- Kolby Curran

Hello everyone,
I’m new to recording audio for books and would love to contribute to this collection. Quick question: I just pick any public domain horror short story and then record it then submit it here? I don’t have to get the BC’s go-ahead to start recording?

Pretty much, yes, unless there is a question about PD-ness. Read the first couple paragraphs in the first post for more information. (All the info you need is in the first post, aside from specific info about a certain story.)manuelms3 wrote: ↑May 8th, 2018, 5:58 pm Hello everyone,

Please refer to the responses in your solo thread.
My advise is to withdraw this contribution and concentrate on the solo.
But if you want to abort the solo, your contribution is welcome here.
The technical notes in your solo thread should all be addressed to and the filename should also be changed (see first post in this thread).
Please tell me what you decide to do.

Hi am1033,
I was informed by a colleague that you have edited your previous post. We do not get notifications for edits, so please make a new post every time you upload a new file.
I've checked your new contribution.
Most important: it's truncated. the last 8 minutes are missing.
Further more: the background noise is still too loud. Although a bit of background noise is acceptable in you case it's too much. And it can be corrected easily, using a filter in Audacity.
The other specs are ok now.
If you need help, please make a test-recording first and post it to the 'Listeners & Editors Wanted' thread. Our people there can help you with everything except the dishes.
