Georg Hegel's Psychology by Karl Rosenkranz 1805-1879 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rosenkranz

Hi Craig, Glad to see this contribution about Hegel's psychology. Your reading is PL OK! :)

Eudemonism was a new word for me. So was "psychilogy" [in the file name], which I fixed up for you in the MW. I think you were thinking of our winter weather when you made that typo!

Eudemonism: a system of ethics that bases moral value on the likelihood that good actions will produce happiness.
It was a new word for me too. I increased the volume a little and reloaded.

Thanks for listening Sue.

Hymn of Creation by Carl Gustav Jung, 1875-1961 translated by Beatrice M Hinkle, 1874–1953

Birdsongs before dawn...

Hi Craig, thanks for this selection from Carl Gustav Jung! :) There were just two small deviations from the text that I noted. at 11:35.5, you substituted the word "plainly" for "playfully." I also think that I heard "certain" instead of "uncertain" at 13:12.5 ("universal undervaluation and uncertain judgment") Otherwise, all was ok.

Voyager 1 Encounters Saturn, by NASA

3 files stitched together, so there are some sound variations. I think I leveled them out enough. 8-)

Hi BT, Thanks very much for this informative narrative of Voyager I's encounter with Saturn. :) I think you are going to have many appreciative listeners for this reading! I was just amazed to learn that "broadcasts of data across a billion miles to Earth are accomplished with a spacecraft transmitter power of only about 25 watts, the amount of energy required by a small household light bulb."

I was also fascinated by the precise timing needed to pull off this exploration of Saturn: "Only once every 175 years are the outer planets aligned in their orbits so that we can take advantage of gravity-assist trajectories to achieve encounters with Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune on one mission."

Your recording is near perfect and can stand as is, if you want. If you are aiming at word perfect, I'll list the few small places that could stand attention. You can do what you want with these:

You forgot the word "million" in front of "kilometers" at 11:30, 12:41, and 13:50 (pgs. 9, 10, and 12).

21:26, I don't think you need to say "Illustration" here, since the illustration is further down the page. (p 20)

36:22, you might want to cut out the repetition of the word "view" in "to best view."
(page 36)

36:33 "to provide future encounters" You said "further encounters" (p. 36)

38:55 You said 7,000 miles instead of 77,000. There is an easy cut and paste fix for this one, because you say 77,000 miles correctly at 42:39

Your sound was fine!

Thanks for a great recording! :)
