Thanks for the catch, Rapunzelina. Sometimes you edit more than was intended! The correction is uploaded. New duration is 4:36.

Hi, Josh! Thank you for your contribution! It just needs this phrase at this end, after "End of poem", "This recording is in the public domain.", plus 5 seconds of silence. And when you're ready, just re-upload with the same name.

So, I will be away for 10 days, and I am leaving this project in the ever gentle hands of Kitty (Thank you, Sonia!).

Hello again, Deaglán :) I remember you from the one-minute test. Great you found your way into the Short Poetry collection. Unfortunately, I have to give you the bad news that we cannot accept your contribution, and this for public domain issues. :(

While the poem is PD in the United States and therefore would be eligible for Librivox, the author unfortunately only died in 1965. This is not a problem for US-Citizens, but you, as being a European resident currently, need to comply with the European copyright law, which says that an author has to be dead for 70 years, before he is PD for us. I'm in the same situation. Eliot will only become PD for us in January 2036.

I am really sorry. Copyright law is quite tricky and there are many things to consider. But in a nutshell, before you record a text, you need to check 2 things:

1) the text needs to be PD in the US, which basically means, it needs to be published before 1923.

2) the author needs to be dead for 70 years

usually if these two criteria are met, I think you are safe to record. When in doubt, always better post here before you record.

I hope you find plenty other good poems you would like to contribute :9: Maybe you can have a look around this forum, to get some inspirations.

If there are still questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

wonderful sensitive poems you have chosen here, Tomas :9: I especially love Bronwen of the flowers, such a sweet and light-hearted poem.

Bronwen and Winter Nightfall are already PL ok.

edited a few hours later: Rapunzelina found another archive source for the Whitman poem and this one is PL ok as well. Sorry for any confusion in the mean time.

thank you Ian, I think a garden theme is very uplifting when outside nature is still bleak and sleeping. :D Just what we need to raise our spirits.

Unsure about the source yet again, I checked and found the same poems on Gutenberg as well, and they both exactly match your text. So these two poems are PL ok. And wonderfully narrated with feeling. :9: Loved them very much.

Note to Rapunzelina: in case you prefer Gutenberg as source, here are the links, which I will not put in the MW yet:
Teasdale: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/591
Browning: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/2002

Thanks, Ian
