Thank you, Patrick and Helen!
MW is almost updated; I still have to add Helen's contribution. The recording is somewhat low in volume. So Helen, if it's the Noise Reduction that affects the volume, then maybe we can go without it. If it's originally recorded with low volume, check the microphone's input volume setting and increase if possible.
Aim for the waveform to peak just above the 0.5 mark and upload the poem again.

Hi Rapunzelina,
Second try. I increased the volume, but now the noise level looks increased. Your graph is excellent, the one showing on MP3 when I record doesn't look anything like yours.
Ty for your help.

Thank you, Helen! This is much better, because it's preferable to have the necessary volume even with some background noise, than not have volume at all.
Did anything change in your settings since last month? The first recordings were fine in volume.

Happy new year! Thank you for all of your help last year, and for being so kind already this year!
I have two new poets. I'm afraid the way the scan is laid out isn't terribly easy to read, but if you scroll past the German, you'll get there!
'Falling Stars' by Friedrich von Sallet (1812-1843)

In that case, let's skip the noise reduction altogether. I've actually seen this happening before - the noise reduction messing up with the volume. I don't know how it can be solved, but in your setup, the background noise is not so obtrusive fortunately! So it's ok if we have a little white background noise, rather than mess up the volume every time

Happy New Year! Well, you know I am a sucker for poetry and new poets The new forum design reminded me of Legamus and so I logged in there. Hi Rapunzelina!
Here are my three for the month. I hope you enjoy your "away time" ..... don't worry about getting to these if you don't have time, as I'm quite happy to have the lovely Sonia take over the job too!

Hi Repunzelina,
To celebrate the new year, I thought I'd try a little gender-bending. Here are three poems which would more properly be read by a woman:
Corinna Confesses by Laura Redden Searing (1839-1923)
Text: https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/corinna-confesses
Duration: 4:34
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc176_corinnaconfesses_wt_128kb.mp3
The Quality of Mercy is Not Strained by William Shakespeare (1564-1616)
Text: https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/merchant-venice-act-iv-scene-i-quality-mercy-not-strained
Duration: 1:21
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc176_qualityofmercy_wt_128kb.mp3
Only in Sleep by Sara Teasdale (1884-1933)
Text: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/591
Duration: 1:10
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc176_onlyinsleep_wt_128kb.mp3
Though in the case of the Shakespeare, since the actor in Shakespeare's day would have been a man playing a woman posing as a man, the gender-bending would seem to resemble a moebus strip!
I hope you have a safe journey and enjoy your time off.
Winston

Thank you for your kind wishes, Nemo and Winston!
I still have time in-between preparations to enjoy some poetry!
I have updated the Magic Window with your contributions, and I have just one PL note for Winston:
In "Corinna Confesses" I think there's a phrase missing at around 1:58, here in bold: That the protests were double: each went from the struggle unconquered
